Hello, just wanted to introduce myself. The name´s Dave, live near Osnabrück in Germany, married with two teenage lads and am in the process of restoring and modifying a 1963 Ford FK 1250. The FK´s or Taunus Transit as they were later called were only built for the German market between 1953 & 1965 and about 250,000 were made in Cologne These vans are pretty rare over here (we reckon there´s less than 100 left) and judging from the reactions we received at Santa Pod at the Classic Ford weekend, a couple of weeks ago, they´re even rarer in the UK. They are the German equivalant of the Thames and are probably just as difficult to keep on the road (spareswise) as the Thames because the arrogant buggers at Ford are not interested in their history and don´t care about classic Fords!!! The last 12 months i´ve been concentrating on getting the bodywork up to scratch, but as soon as the season is up then there´s a 2.8 Scorpio waiting to be stripped of it´s running gear. That´ll keep me and the lads busy in winter! keep you posted, Dave

Very very cool looking bus.
Osnabruck? I was working at the Windmoeller & Hoelscher offices in Lengerich, for about 3 months. Went to osnabruck only once, and that was just an office visit to a company called PCO.
A warm welcome to Retro Rides ;D

That's fantastic! BRMs are an inspired choice.
They say:
'I know about split-screen campers, but I'm doing my own thing and having more fun and spending less money on the way!'

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

thanks lads.
The point RMAD made is exactly what its all about.
When I sold my splittie a couple of years ago most people couldn´t understand why!
Apart from a couple of my mates who also have a couple of nice TT´s the Fords are not only cheaper, rarer, look better, drive better, have engine in the right place, have a decent loading bay....they´re FASTER!!!(especially when you drop a 2.8 V6 in em)
