The point RMAD made is exactly what its all about. To me, the best cars are about taking great ideas and using them cleverly and unexpectedly, ideally whilst still appealing the those that influenced you. The added bonus being that often you stand out more and spend less in the process. Your FK is a fantastic example of doing just that.

Better than any vw camper i've ever seen. Matt But only if everybody was doing VWs - if everyone had Taunus Transits we'd be doing VWs!

This is what these things normally look like if you do see one. The few that are still going survived due to being used by the local firebrigades. They were not used very often, well looked after and normally stored inside. ....the usual bits and bobs that need sorting out, bit of welding and off it went for paint. Alex " she´s the good looking one next to my son) did a really good job of painting the van!

Hi tharg242,
it wasn´t so much a side swipe at the VW (had one myself and spent nearly five years restoring it!!)
It was more a dig at the market with overblown prices that are not only unrealistic but have taken most VW buses financially out of the reach of us normal bods!! (...only speaking for myself as a father of two teenage lads with a morgage etc!
Thanks for your comments anyway, Dave

Personally the only cars I own are air cooled vdubs atm. Both are beetles though, one which I need to sell, and while the bay and splitty market is going up, the beetle one has dropped For me it was originally mini's or beetles, went for beetles in the end, cheaper insurance too. Now I'm being introduced to LOADS of other classics! But yes, its good so many are getting saved! Well done mate, this van does indeed look spectacular, I'm very very jealous and willing to admit it!

Never ever seen one of those before and didn't even know that they existed and such a stunning example too. That's what's so great about this site is being introduced to cars and styles I've never seen before and enjoying every minute. ;D
