There are at least 2 good ways to go with the headlights. Go with Bassboy's look which means removing your driving lights and fitting the CL spec blanking plates or, try to find an early 4 square headlight grill. I like these. I think all those parts suggested may cost more than the car though as they are subject to scene tax.

Thanks for the feedback and advice lads, gonna drop by my local GSFparts place and see if i can order bits through them and if not i'll try some of the v-dub ads fom the magazines. On that bassboy rocco, its obviously had the side skirts and rear skirt removed but are they still the standard arch kit or what's the story there?

Those are the stock arches hiding under the stock bodykit. there is a plastic trim for the front part of the arch (like on the base model Mk2 golfs) and if you want the single headlight look, you can modify an early passat grill to fit (there are bedadged versions as well)
GSF and eurocarparts stock most bits, although I did find that getting rad hoses and stuff like that was getting harder.

Thanks for that man, i'm ringing around for a few bits andpieces today - melting the credit card!! Hopefully have the brakes etc to get it back on the road to start with

Thats 'Bassboy' is actually the sexiest scirocco I have ever seen! Apart fromt he 'bassboy' plates LOL Yeah but why name your car after a fish? About the front fogs, I quite liked them on my brother's old one, not often I like fogs at all.

as someone said a bit further up, hurl the pierburg carb away as far as you can, into the sea preferrably, and fit a direct replacement weber. best money spent on any carbed vw IMHO

Today i mostly bought brake discs, pads, shoes, air filter, oil filter, plugs and wipers for the 'Rocco - all standard so i can get the car on the road ASAP. Sum total of about £50 couldn't be bad! Priced a full set of polyurethane bushes in the same shop and they quoted 89Euro (approx £60) all in.......although they are a boxed set for a MkI Golf/Jetta - i presume they should fit according to the info i've been receiving? Anybody able to confirm this before i purrrrchase these? Fogs on sciroccos are so fu**ing ugly, that looks like a nice clean one you get there Thanks moomin, i totally agree about the front fogs.....i'm collecting the car on friday and one of the first jobs will be to rip them off as someone said a bit further up, hurl the pierburg carb away as far as you can, into the sea preferrably, and fit a direct replacement weber. best money spent on any carbed vw IMHO I'm defo gonna have to look into this i reckon.....obviously i'd love twin webers on it but i reckon between the cost of the initial outlay and the fact that this car will be my daily driver mean that's not going to be happening. Any suggestions as to where i can pick up a "direct replacement weber"? (Don't hate me for asking what I'm sure is a stupid question!)

Got the car last night and had to "smokey and the bandit" it home.....tax,insurance and mot's are for girls!!! My da drove ahead on the lookout and i did my best to blend the rocco into traffic!! Unfortunately, buying the discs blind was not as clever as i thought as they're wrong and need to changed so didn't see the point in tackling the pads until then. Coupled with the fact that the wheels on the driver's side have locking nuts......but no key supplied!!!! Basically, last night and this afternoon i pulled off those pants lights, found the leak in the boot, cleaned inside and out, got the clutch adjusted, blah blah blah. Had a good blast in it on empty roads around 1 o'clock this morning and it sailed along happy out around 80mph so i'm delighted with myself! Looks much better with the spotlights removed Engine bay is 100%, just needs a good steam clean Interior is fine too, cleaned all the mold out and its all black again And i really have to sort out the ride height issue. I mean, in fairness, look at the state of the tyre-to-arch-gap on the front:

very nice indeed ;D ;D as for the weber, have a look round the scrappy at mk2 golf 1.6s and 1.8s or any vw with same engine. if its got a choke cable(just behind the sterring wheel on the left) theres a fair bet its got a weber. plunder it for pennies and bung it straight on for a much more responsive drive.oh and your likely to find some lowering kits sometimes as well if your lucky i went for one, found three or four!! used one and bunged the rest on the bay for HUGE profit ;D ;D ;D
