Yes, the project has started. I'm documenting it on pistonheads (see link below): pistonheads.com/doc.asp?c=52&i=16794Currently she's had the engine and box removed, flogged to a mini racer for £150 (more than the car cost me!) and next week the 827 Rover will go under the knife. Rough measurements show that it will fit (bulkhead to grille) and it's just the masses of modern ancillaries which may need hiding/rerouting. Will keep ya posted. Cheers for the interest! Big cheers to 77allegro for all those measurements. Nice one - I owe you a pint. Jonny

I realise my thread title is now out of date. My project won't be pro street, but instead a faithful v6 fwd sleeper. The Rover gets its heart removed tonight so then the rest of the car is up for spares before the shell is weighed in. Anyone need any ROVER 827 bits? Nice interior, alloys, trim, panel, switches, dash, doors etc. Email me on jonnycarpervert@gmail.com.

Ah nut's johnny boy i read this to late.
You could have followed a different pro street idea ( i know it aint real pro street but a new version in my eye's) as in wacky's vx firrenza but maybe used a volvo turbo lump up front for big boost power and five linked volvo axle on rear with wheels in tubs.
Perhaps an idea for the future or someone else?

The Volvo idea sounds nice. Any pics Mr Rodit? As it sits the Allegro will be FWD with Rover power. Should be a lot of fun.
Anyone for Rover 827 bits?

That damn Exige was harder to climb into than a letter box. Hope you're ok Tim. The Pontiac's still going strong!
The Allegro is obviously FWD and will NOT be Pro Street. It is a budget sleeper that should look v factory. Supercharger is a possibility. Have just bought another donor for the suspension - a Rover 216 convertible. Does anyone need bits? All I need is the suspension!
I'm still looking for a quartic wheel. Have got a series 1 NOS grille for £1.99 on bay. Genius.
Keep ya posted.

Found a stash of N.O.S quartic steering wheels for Allegros. Am purchasing :-)
Does anyone want bits from my ROVER 827 SI breaking and my ROVER 216 CONVERTIBLE?
