Rover 827 2.7 V6 FWD with 5-spd manual is the way I'm thinking. Am about to buy a suitable donor car... Sounds cool, Honda V6 in an Allegro. If iirc the 2.7 puts out about 180 bhp, with a manual box it would be a serious street sleeper! Plus Rover 827 Sterling's are dirt cheap, one of my traders has just advertised one today for £275 with MOT and leather. He's in Launceston, Cornwall so its probably a bit far!

Sierra - here we go again! He has an illness, it's not his fault.

If anyone has easy access to a Rover 827 that they can measure, could they measure the dimensions of the engine (with ancillaries) and how far the drive shafts come out from the engine?
Though tempting, Launceston is a long way to go for me. If I still lived at home with the folks in Somerset they maybe, but from Lincs it's a right mission. Have found a good 1 owner donor for £150 and she's a manual. Just had new clutch and flywheel too. Mmmm...
Thankyouplease.

Not wanting to make you change your plans if you're set on the v6 but.... I may have a Rover T16 turbo engine and box available next week (200bhp and an lsd as standard ) Keeps it a bit more British too!

Haven't I seen a Pro Street one a long time ago built on a full chassis? IIRC this later got swapped for a Metro body? Was SBC poweered and I saw it at the Pod in the 80s and it was insane. As in all over the feckin place..... AK, was it this one? I'm pretty sure it went through a couple of colour changes as well.

That looks the fecking LAW. Ooooh, I really fancy Pro Street again now. Need to have another chat with John Sleath.
Oh, and the Rover T16 sounds v tempting. I may have a word with you about that.... Cheers.

THE PROJECT HAS STARTED> Just bought this and had it picked up: cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270144340147&sspagename=ADME:L:RTQ:UK:1She's a manual and even has MoT. Not bad for £150! The Allegro is shortly to follow the 827 up to Newcastle where MB Motorsport (0191 4894239) are measuring up for a transplant. Words like Supercharger have been mentioned, but ultimately this will be a heart transplant and a very accurate street sleeper. Project All-Agro beginneth..

In the next few weeks it will take shape. In the meantime, 77Allegro I wonder if you could do me a big favour. My Agro is miles away in storage and we need to take some Allegro measurements. Could you do us a favour and measure up the following if you have a spare 5 mins? we need:
With bonnet up from wing bolts (wing tops) to other wing top bolts. From where radiator sits right back to the firewall. From centre of front wheel back to firewall. From centre of front wheel forward to where rad sits (and/or where front grille is). Width of track (so from top of one front wheel across to the other) Overall width from front suspension strut to another.
Am I asking too much? Sorry, but if you can help then I'll owe you big time!

philball is the rover rwd? You called? Afraid not, the car I was hoping to get my hands on came to nothing in the end unfortunately. If you want to go rwd with the t16 I think the way to go is mix and match sherpa and sd1 parts.

Not a problem if you can wait a couple of days to drag the Aggro off the drive as I have to move an equally dead Merc first. Always happy to help out a fellow Aggro sufferer, er owner! (especially one who has contact with V-B-H!- sorry...)

Right, tape measure at the ready; Wing drip rail to driprail (wings not bolt on)124cm inside 128cm outside. Rad to firewall- this slopes so it's 63cm at the scuttle end and 74cm to the floor end. Centre of wheel to firewall- measured from the master cylinder-20cm. Centre of wheel to rad- 45cm to rad, 55cm to grille. Top of front wheel to other- 136cm.(this might vary as my wheels are leaning in slightly due to letting most of the gas out for the club national event. I wanted it sitting low... ) Front strut to other- (this was measured across the centre of the Hydragas spheres)-90cm There we go fella, owt else I'll be glad to help.
