Yup - the horn isn't fun! Mine is bodged but it works*. You've also reminded me that the foam ring is one of several things that I forgot to order from Brookhouse this morning, along with the rocker breather hose & front seat webbing that I did order.
*When I put my horn back together after swapping the broken chrome trim ring for an intact one, I soon found out why there was some torn-off pieces of sponge jammed between the ring & the steering wheel..... Turns out the actual foam ring in the horn button had disintegrated years ago, but the sponge trick worked well enough before, so I instated it.

After much worry and concern.......We passed the MOT today !
An advisory on 2 tyres due to some sidewall cracking....So I had them replaced anyway just to be safe.
Thanks to everyone who helped with practical and moral support ! Expect some more questions as I work my way through my "things to do" list.
Cheers, Gerry (Now I'm away oot for a wee, pointless drive!)

Well, took my Amazon on a longish trip yesterday......350 miles round trip Glasgow to Aberdeen......Its mostly good dual carriageway, with lots of cameras between Dundee andaberdeen....travelling at 65 was just right. I just left 30 mins earlier.....Got there feeling laid back and relaxed !
Lost a throttle return spring on the way back, car was revving its nuts off in the traffic jam....But all in all a nice trip !
Cheers Gerry
