After showing off all my past rides I thought it about time I presented my current pride and joy.
I am going to do this in a number of different sections...
PART 1 - JUST OFF THE BOAT
I happened to come across my Mustang by pure luck.. and in no small part thanks to Seth.
After looking for a while I heard about this one that had just been brought over from California where it had been sitting in the desert for 20 years. It was bought by Andy Loizou (famed classic mustang mechanic) to be rebuilt and used as his own car but I somehow managed to convince him to build it for me instead.
I loved the idea of watching a car being slowly built and knowing that when complete I would be the first owner in 2 decades!
Being a 64 1/2 it is pretty damn rare, but it had the much needed 289ci V8.
Not long before these photos were taken pretty much everything was caked in sand, yet there was not a spot of rust ANYWHERE on the car.
Here it is as I first saw it. No interior, no engine, no... thing:
Over about 5 months the car had new suspension, brakes and interior, a minor engine rebuild, a full gearbox rebuild and generally much attention paid to it.
I swore blind I would never modify it...
