I'm a newbie here. Have been into cars for as long as I can remember. My first, and only, car is a 65 MGB. It was bog standard when I bought it.
Most modifications that were made since then are 'period', such as a HRG Derrington alloy crossflow head etc.

Mods up until now are:
- 'box with overdrive
- 15x5.5" 72 spoke MGC wire wheels, running 185 Vredestein tires
- uprated dampers and bushes
- panhard rod
- DoubleS 2" stainless exhaust, single box ;D
- Mintex 1144 brake pads and shoes
the engine needs a list of it's own
- bored to 1950cc
- custom made, forged alloy pistons to bring it to 11.5/1 CR (approximately)
- Derrington crossflow head, modified to 44mm/34mm valves by Peter Burgess
- Piper 285 cam
- Aldon modified distributor
- Dell'Orto 40 DHLA carbs (same type carbs as Weber 40 DCOE)
- ITG filters
- fully balanced
- oil pump to Special Tuning spec
All leads to 150 bhp at the engine, or 124 bhp at the wheels. (a stock mgb has 62 at the wheels)
Plans: baffled sump, lowering the car a bit (perhaps), changing the seats to period buckets, ...
