well here it is - the reason i sold up my modern cars and got back to the old school.... will try and update the thread as and when anything happens.. car as she stands thought i'd have a look through some of the parts on the car and what they'll be replaced with... Std steering wheel (pretty cool) Mota Lita replacement wheel (even cooler) Original Stereo (still will be in car for show) Sony MP3 CD Player (will be hidden in glovebox) My spare front subframe (below) is being stripped and cleaned up then my spare front suspension (when refurbed) will get treated to these... and fitted back to the car along with the brand new steering rack and rod ends also the std engine...(2.3 single cam) will get a few little treats too, as well as the blydenstein big valve head and race cam, i'll also be removing these (1.75" Strombergs) and fitting one of these (Coburn Inlet Manifold) With a pair of these (Twin 45 DHLAs) with 40mm chokes! i'll need some wheels and tyres of course, so my 12 of these will get refurbed. Road Rubber Track Rubber and a few other nice bits for the car... Janspeed Equal length 4 branch Solid Brake pipes (pre-made), Harnesses, New Jets for the 45s... Works High Level Alt Bracket Spare Genuine Nosecone Is it obvious my garage is all Droopsnoot parts? more updates to come as and when i do anything worth taking pics of!

Welcome! I am extremely jealous because: a) You have a Droopsnoot b) You have a garage that is tidy and organised, and it looks like you can actually walk around in there without taking your life into your hands! I spend most of my garage time looking for stuff that I put down 5 mins ago! Great project, I'll look forward to updates!

thanks for the welcome guys - the car has been sat in my garage for about ten years doing nothing - so i decided it was time to get it back on the road - told dad if he didn't do it then i was going to so now it's mine! no more mention of v8s, XE 16v or anything like that please be ideal to put in a flat-front but i think the Droopsnoot is a little too rare to rip out the engine. mind you i am tempted by nitrous one day.....

dad's best mate bought the car with 17k miles on it, dad bought it off his mate's widow with about 22k on so he's had the car about 25 years or something it's been off the road for 10 years - about five years before that it had a big restoration - lots of new body panels, so the car has some surface rust and is a little tatty at the edges, but things like sills and wings are very solid mini update from today... went to do a wet/dry compression test on the car today, stuck a battery on, and was amazed, starter works, lights, indicators, wipers, washer, heater fan, everything all works! (car has been sat 10 years) compression results weren't great, but they were the same wet and dry so i'm happy it is more likely to be the head than the bottom end (head's getting replaced anyway) and i test fitted the seats - the frames need modifying but i should be able to use the original seat runners [ ] here's a couple of pics...

hehe... thats a very nice car! ;D just out of interest, how old are you, and where are you? keep us updated... hi there i'm 27, i work near oxford and the car lives in suffolk. Mind you, as soon as it's back on the road it will come down to oxford with me. And i'll still probably leave the keys in the ignition overnight like i do with all my cars... (hope this doesn't offend anyone- I'm 27, three points on my license, single, and this car is costing me £185 a year, fully comp, with all mods declared and no mileage limit.)
