...but I was wondering what everyone would think of a 'thank you' feature to the forum? The Volvo OC forum has this, & it seems to work quite well . I know very little about forum code, so if it's not possible to include this in RR v2.0 (or everyone else thinks it sucks), then I apologise for the silly idea

It's on every post, but maybe only registered users can see it. The totals for each user (both number of times they have said thanks to others & also the number of times others have thanked them) are shown next to their post count. If someone is sharing particularly useful info or advice, others can say thank you without it cluttering up the thread

Like the 'Karma points' thing they used to do on minifinity, i presume?
you can only give someone RESTECP or harsh them once, to stop little backslapping cliques going down.

Not really familiar with the karma points thing.... On the VOC, it shows who has said 'thank you' to any particular post so although there are no limits to the amount of times you can thank someone, I guess that any cliquey behavioiur would be relatively obvious.

we introduced this on another forum I used to mod and it caused so much trouble it was removed again. It was called "reputation", but a similar thing.
