Just the gearbox (I already have a good o/d) as parts for rebuilding my current 'box which has a damaged casing. Needs to be the type that takes the 'D' overdrive, as apparently these are different to the 'J' Type o/d 'boxes.
Preferably London area.
Thanks!

Eeek! not much left for bodywork then Sadly not . The casing, layshaft & something else that is rather intimate with the layshaft are fubared. However the rest of internals are ok, and I now know why it had started leaking so much oil from the back...... My mechanic was very surprised about the condition of the 'box since it drove fine (typical Volvo I guess! ;D), but he can sort it out, providing he can get the casing - he's chasing his sources for one at the moment as well. However that puts the next round of bodywork back a bit - looks like just the rear window mounting flange this time, rather than the whole rear 1/4 But now that's the last major piece of running gear done (engine was recon in '98 (approx 50K ago), back axle last year) so hopefully ready for another few 100K miles after this

Paul,
Try getting in touch with Gordon Hunter through the VOC. He might have an M41 kicking around.

I'd forgotten about Gordon - he's been very quiet on there recently. However all parts are sorted now
