Hi folks, just popping this back up as he needs shifting cos I've bought myself a luvverly amazon! So here he is: a lovely old bus for sale, my '79 Ovlov 245 estate, in blue. named Bjorn the blue whale. to be honest i'm not expecting a fortune for him. He has a SUSPECTED blown head gasket and needs some TLC and work. NO MOT OR TAXHe is light blue, with dark blue interior. drivers seat is ripped, and front bumper is dented. the rear arches are beginning to go, but saveable if your handy with a bit of filler. 2127cc (B21A) 4 speed manual. carburettor fed engine. just over 135k miles on the clock. although speedo has been intermittent, so can add a thousand or two. This would make a killer ride, chrome (stainless steel) trim for wheels included, but to be honest, it needs slamming on some nice alloys to really get the effect. Hi there!
Well I don't think the head gasket would need doing for MOT, and as long as you don't mind buying oil more regularly, it might not cause a problem. I think he would need a general service and also the brake pedal was having to travel a long way to have any effect. and i was going through quite a bit of brake fluid. cylinder maybe? apart from that, i don't really know as i never put it through one this time, I just let it run out and sorned it. your welcome to just come and have a look! and very open to offers!

Ive still got a load of pics of this car when it was for sale last time (about 2 years ago?)
Want me to post them. It looked pretty good back then.
Is it rotten underneath or in the spare wheel wells?
I much prefer 240s to 740s. I wonder how big the engine bay is.....

Hi folks! that would be great if you could pop those up for me tim! I totally forgot about speaking to you last time it was up! hehe.
it still has a hole in the spare wheel well, but all else is solid! tailgate and slam plate are solid! think it was garaged by a previous owner.
I have to agree, the 240 series, especially the early ones are much nicer than the laters volvos, although it seems in the last few years Volvo have rediscovered curves!!! lol. If ever i have enough money and room to keep 2 cars on the go, it would be an early 240 and my amazon! but alas i have to choose and the amazon gets it purely because of her value.
Paul - I'll get some taken and pop them on she's called lily and she's a 1965 122s. £1100 (didn't think that was too bad to pay. body work is good, just the usual bits and bobs!
Go on Tim, you know you like 245's!

Id love to make an offer James............ but theres cheek and then theres insulting! If you still have it in a few weeks and need to get shot give me an email. Id just stick it in the spare council garage I'm renting and just keep it until its needed, who knows when! |
