After a nice (cheap) four-banger, 316 / 316i or 318i.... Ideally want a nice, clean 'one elderly owner' un-messed with example.... you know the deal, no bodykits, rolling on steels & trims, 'i've been to heavor castle' sticker sort of job.... Cash waiting, manual gearboxes only, 2-door or 4-door welcome. Thankyou please. xxx

Hmm, the plan was to MOT it before i sold it, because obviously it will be worth more to you or anyone else with a ticket on it. So at the moment I'm just getting it ready for the MOT and generally giving her a good valet. The only thing i can see it failing on so far is: I'm not 100%, but the power steering may be leaking, i havent had chance to check it properly yet, just noticed its a bit wet around the resevoir.... Also, the off side rear brake may be binding ever so slghtly, so it may need a cylinder for the MOT, but it might just be me bieng paranoid and hearing noises though And a reverse ligh is out So unless i got a strong offer for it as it stands, it would probably be more cost effective for me to do the work and get her MOT'd, as those faults may be a bit off putting? As for how much for when it is MOT'd, i suppose it depends how much it cost me to get it MOT'd..... Sorry for bieng vague on the price Perhaps i should get it MOT'd and see how much it stands me at and we can go from there I should be taking her to the garage either late next week or the week after. Still any good to ya?

got a couple of 318i tourings for sale at my place. one red, t&t, steels, dark grey cloth int., green stuff pads and ate power discs, £650 other is white with light grey int., no t&t, coke bottle alloys, v.straight, £350 have also got an early 320i ('83 model year) 2-door, test till august, no tax, genuine 52k, £350, BUT its a 3speed auto. more money could see it leave as a manual. have got some photos on my mobile, but the battery is flat will post them if you're interested

Hmmm. What's the 320i slush-box like, body wise.... I have a 5-speeder I can bung in no problems and if it's straight body-wise I think it will have to be had & balls to economy.... I take it that it's ok mech-wise... none of that pesky axle-bush replacement req'd?

here is the 320i, nick. its got a dent in the front of the n/s wing, next to the grille. also badly fitted arch repair panels (the edges are visible and tatty), and the henna red has gone flat. we bought it about 2-3 years ago from the original owner with 33k on the clock, sold it to a customer who used it as a station car. its been well serviced just not "loved". also the drivers seat has worn on the lower bolster and the interior is tan houndstooth. its pretty good underneath. and, yes, I know its a cr@p photo, but you get the general idea

I suspect thats what a potential buyer, ie Nick, wants! Lets have some facts. Are you selling it without MOT. If so how much. If not, when will it be MOTd and how much will you want then.

^calm down dear^ BodieAndDoyle.... I'm not 100% sure that's quite what we'd want.... basically my bro's 320i needs surgery, and since it's rustier than a fisheman's bucket tm-the bo11ox corp, I don't know whether another 'rat' will be suitable... I'll consult with him & let you know if we'll be paying a visit

this is the straight white 318i touring. we bought it off of a guy who got it for the engine. when he got it home, he came to the same conclusion we did: its to good to break, so we crushed an unclean mot'd 2.5 touring instead don't worry if none of these float your boat, I'm just offering alternatives

Hmm, I hate BMWs but I have to say I could get enthusiastic about one of those 3-series WAGONS. They are a cool set of wheels OK. How grim are the 318 versions to drive? Are they painfully underpowered or not too bad? Also this is the gayest hatchback shape I have ever seen, be OK is you had a colossal mushroom to shift I suppose.

I was saying that to the wife today about the boot, they should have split the lights like eveyone else instead of being tight and using the saloon ones on the wagon... ;D
The one you are looking at there is a bloody tidy one, proper colour too, almost tempted, she's just got a Labrador pup so I'll be needing an Estate... ;D

MR.B- If you want me to summarise my origional long winded reply for you: - The car currently has no MOT - I want to sell it with an MOT as it will generally be worth more - I will have a price as soon as i can factor in how much it set me back to MOT it The waffle version is due to my poor salesman skills I think we're all on the same page now NickB- I'll let you know when its MOT'd and how much i want for it, if your still looking for one by then and you want to have a look we'll arrange it ;D
