In other episodes, I've seen Rockford's car (can never remember if it's a Camaro or a Firebird) change from being a flat front to the slant nose and back again!!!

Rockford's car is a '75/6 Firebird Esprit. The leas tdesireable as it's powered by an asthmatic 4.1 litre straight six engine and has a three speed dogleg box. Had one once for a laugh!!
On the subject of continuity and Firebirds, the bit in 'Highlander' where the vigilante witnesses the Keurgen <sp?> chop someone's head off in a back street, the first car's a 79/80 TransAm which turns into a 77/78 Formula. They're both red though!
ETA:- was going to ask why you were putting your wee yin down for a morning nap at 0430, but just realised the clock on the forum's not quite synchronised!

I seem to recall an episode of Casualty once where a lad took his dad's red 1970s Chevy Camaro out for a joyride. Predictably, this being Casualty, he stacked it. But it seems he went into the ditch so hard, it resembled a Mk3 Capri in a completely different shade of red when the ambulance crew arrived... weird....

A distinct lack of continuity was present in many 70's and 80's TV and film productions. The example that stands out most in my mind are the 'transforming' police cars in TV series like the Dukes of Hazzard and films like Smokey and the Bandit. One minute he has a Pontiac Le Mans in hot pursuit, the next its a Plymouth Satellite or some such ... it doesnt spoil the film for me (how could it) but its not like you wouldnt notice.

For some reason I always seem to remember it as a Camaro, but like stated it's Firebird Esprit. Strange how the mind works as you get older.
