I just bought this as a donor car for my moggy minor which I'm picking up in the new year. Its an NG TA ( so I'm told), an MGB based kit car from the 70's. I've bought it for the engine and box but i don't know what to do with the rest of it, it seems a shame to scrap it, even though it's had a bit of front end damage, and i know the wheels have got to be worth a few quid on there own (there is four good wheels as it has a spare). So does anyone know of any kit car nutters who might want to buy the remains from me or any sites where i might find said nutters. Cheers folks.

Besides the front end damage it looks alright, I'd say someone could save that thing, and the fact that the front needs work means that modiying it to suit a bigger engine in it isn't such a daunting task, as you're already messing around with the front anyway! The hillclimb mob might be interested maybe? Try Locoster's new forum, sorry I don't have the address but there should be a forum about it that went up this week, flick back a few pages. Hope that helps!

They are a bit unusual, aren't they? The really odd thing is I once saw one of those cruising about in convoy with a genuine MG TC!! I the two of them flew past me last summer in the north of Scotland when I had stopped for a curse word, I saw them later that day in Newtonmore in the restaurant car park, so I pulled in and said hello to them, turns out it was an NG and an MG who had been to a show in the North (shamefully I forget which one it was! ) and were going home. People going by didn't half stare, one vintage roadster, one car that looks like a vintage roadster, and an Imp! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Thanks for your help guys, I'll be stripping it out over christmas and the I'll put it up for sale. I'd love to stick the moggy engine in it but i cant be arsed to repair it and i need to get some money back out of it fast. It was one of those purchases where you make the guy an offer then hope he says no cause you know you cant afford it, unfortunatly he said yes and now i need to shift it before her indoors finds out otherwise I'll be sleeping in it ;D

So you're going to put a B Series into a Moggy 1000?
IMHO, I'd recommend against that, as the B is a heavy lump, and will do a great job of buggering up the Minor's handling due to the extra weight over the front wheels. It's been done many times before, and from what I've read, it isn't a particulary satisfactory conversion. To preserve the handling, a Fiat twin cam is reputedly the one to go for, or perhaps a Rover K Series.

Isn't there a company who sells kits that allow you to fit a K Series into a Moggy, they give you everything bar the engine and gearbox, and the kit is made to allow any K Series from a 1400 (one to avoid) to the 1800 VVC, mating up to a Ford Type 9 (you'll find one of them in a Sierra) but I can't remember the name of the company, I think they were in Retro Cars ages ago, they had a Minor Traveller fitted with an 1800 VVC in it I think?

I know the company you mean...I'll try and dig out that issue of the mag.
Fiat Twink would be a nice one to drop in...
