I have Lotus Europa alloys on mine. Not seen them on a Triumph before. Got a bit of a Italian Campag look about them. I was looking at several oddball options, TR7 alloys, these look a bit like campos too, and cheap, or S1 elan bolt on steels, and re-hoop them in 6 and 7s, BUT I am still in the realms of 13s |

Busy Morning, got a call from my local upholsterers today they have a slot this week to trim my Recaros to match the rear seats in the Toledo, yippee, thats been 5 months I have been waiting, but it should be worth the wait. continuing the wheel saga, had a rummage thru the odds n sods of 15" wheels I have laying around, and found some tires on old rims that might fit the bill 195/45/15 & 175/4515, filled the car up with seats and rims, tootled off down the tire shop, pretty please can you swap the rims over, and they very nicely obliged, well they were ready 2 hours later, save waiting I drove across the other side of town to drop off the seats and chatted to the fella for ages about his Zetec powered Morris Minor.    Well the tires fit TBH I'm not overly keen on the offset of the front 6" Cups, but thats an issue way these cars in how car is built and fitting wider wheels,(you need FWD offset) rears fit great, I'm thinking about lowering it a smidge or 50 smidges tbh, the rears are close to the lips so a bit of gentle massaging might just happen, then a fitment of a panhard bar might be essential, ....... SO, my next dilemma is the wheel finish, painted silver with black hi lights?, polished?, diamond cut?, or even paint them a odd colour, what are your thoughts. |

SO, my next dilemma is the wheel finish, painted silver with black hi lights?, polished?, diamond cut?, or even paint them a odd colour, what are your thoughts. Do anything with the wheels except painting them black because that would look rubbish. 'I've just spent ages sorting out wheels for my car, now I'm going to paint them black so that you can't see them' That's what I think, anyway.  |

Would it be a terrible idea to mask and paint them (or use vinyl even) so they look similar to Dolomite Sprint wheels? I figured you'd used them as they have that look. .jpg&f=1&nofb=1&ipt=1d4508546f37af52633dfb07a616fe2d07beeb65621ef7e39c5af60cc8f005e6&ipo=images) |

' ' ' Painting of the wheels back to stock is an option, the edge of the windows and centre area are painted black, the other option is to just paint them silver and tell people they ar Cosmic wheels.  |

Well thats 25mm lower in the front, looks a lot better, I think I would like a bit more would be better, do that and the car would be a garage ornament as it would not get off the drive   |

Been quiet on the Toledo, but a couple of silly little things pleased me in the post, to try and complete the deception with the wheels I intend to grind off the cast ATS makers mark, and install the "COSMIC" covers that arrived from different parts of Europe this week  |

Not been that productive on the not so sunny south coast, other than trying to sort out why the main fuse blew, and I think thats now sorted, However I did get a call from my local upholsterers that my seats are ready they are transformed from a pair of Tatty Astra GTE seats into a pair of smart Triumph Toledo Recarros, I might delete the headrests yet, Ill know when i see how tall the backrest sits in the car.  if anybody is interested in upholstery for not an awful amount of money compared to some others, they are Haywards Upholsterers, Hastings, 01424-423332 |

I might delete the headrests yet, Ill know when i see how tall the backrest sits in the car. I wouldn't advise losing the headrests. I am still suffering from the effects of being crashed into last year, I dread to think what it would have been like without headrests. Maybe you could get some smaller ones if it doesn't look right? The upholstery looks good, BTW. |

Well, I'm happy, they fit about how I envisaged them, when they were in Vauxhall grey fabric, they looked a bit odd in the car, I fiddled and fart-d about I was still little unsure, well pleased now, they sit about 30mm lower in the squab and central, (but I knew that), I was going to bolt the runners on, in retrospect the runners need to be 40mm further back, thats not a major issue, so they are propped up with cardboard boxes at the moment,Even the headrests are lower than what I expected, I will measure the headrest pin positions and see if I can find some black fishnets, (all to their own) and all I need to do now is stop the dog from sleeping on them, at least he never chewed them,   |
