Sorry Gentlemen about being a bit quiet recently, I wanted this in my garage before I announced the vehicle to the world, Its a well know car within these hallowed circles, I did not want to get beaten to the car, especially Tried to buy another Toledo last year, and the price just went silly, But I know its been on here a few times, and will stay so too. Built a while ago by the venerable Mr Shoey, who frequents these pages I appreciate it needs a bit of work on the rear arch and a couple of smaller bits, but it will get done over the winter, then for a carb rebuild and a good setup, its in good hands..........   |

 its not changed that much,this is it in 2009 about 4 years after I sold it ,someone's fitted an engine stabiliser and the guard over the exhaust manifold apart from that that's how I sold it ,it was converted in about a month so it was a pretty rushed job,I remember it handled really well for a Toledo. |

I have that mag, Theres a few bits that need to get sorted, the gear shift has about 6" of play in it, the back of the D/S rear arch is showing its age and there are bubbles showing on the top of the wings about 6" back from the leading edge, I'm guessing headlight supports? and a couple of small scabby bits, apart from that, Think thats about it, bodywork will be done over the winter, going to change or modify the exhaust manifold as its a bit "pinched" where it goes past the subframe, change the rubber fuel pipes for ethanol proof, and rebuild the carbs, I think the ethanol is taking its toll on them too, |

Its been awful wet this last week, which has resulted in finding the screen leaks a little, so that has to be sorted, I have found somebody fix the the small bit of bodywork that needs fixing, and started collecting bits to improve whats already a nice build, I have ordered some carb rebuild kits, received some ethanol proof rubber fuel pipe, probably a good idea to review the whole fuel system, Perhaps a battery relocation to the boot, And, change the exhaust manifold, I have seen nicer and its bugging the hell out of me, so I been rummaging around and found a used Simpson hotrod manifold, which it seems to be within the size parameters of the shell, all apart from it not dropping much, I am assuming thats because of the original car it came from was dry sumped.  |

After a quick spin prior to puting it into storage, I think either a better set of better tires, a LSD, or both may be beneficial to cause..............  or perhaps even less of a right foot, ..... Nah |

Well that never went to plan, just before leaving to put the car into storage, the wife asked to go for a drive, a quick blat around the block, and a slight whiff of antifreeze assaulted my nostrils, then the screen was covered with antifreeze....... I think I said OH DEAR.........., fortunately I was about 500mtrs from my house, so I pootled home slowly, steaming gently, pulled up outside the house, much to the amusement of my neighbour, hoping it was just a popped hose. Houston, Do you think we have a problem?  |
