Hoping that your back was all ok with this. Lying down, getting back up, lying down, getting back up.... I always feel it the day after.
You'll suss the issue with the pump, it's annoying though isn't it? Don't lose faith, it'll be something daft, bet ya.

OOOOh, its been challenge, trying to sort what I have been thinking is a wiring issue, it got to a point where I was considering putting the carbs back on the car, Faffed around chasing wires,I even managed to find a wiring diagram for the DTA ECU, which actually helped, and proved my wiring was correct, Phew, Went for a start, still no fuel pump on the key, There were some new relays on the fueling side, which I could not hear energising, So I changed them for some new relays from a different source, and BINGO the pump primed, turned the off, and also ran when I turned the engine over, getting somewhere now, Kept turning and there was overwhelming smell of fuel and popping and banging coming from exhaust pipe, so I have fuel and spark, I'm now thinking the map or timing is not correct , I have a spare ECU with a slightly different map, tried that, but still the same, So now where to look, and what else have I changed.. the answer is an awful lot. check, check check and double check, eventually realised I had changed the coil pack, which has a different plug to what was used with the carbs, Now in my simplistic mind I wired the the coil the same as the original, guess what, I was wrong, the 1&4 were on the bottom posts and 2&3 on the top posts, check the Minuscule numbers the coil and the plugs should be top to bottom, the BINGO Epiphany struck . Managed to get it all back in position, which is a challenge on its own, Turned the engine over and Brum Brum , it wont tick over for some reason, it could be as simple as the idle screw on the throttle linkage, but I seem to remember the idle should be controlled by the ECU, No1 exhausts also cooler than the rest, another contributing factor., I also need to make a extension for the coolant sensor as its tight over the exhaust and almost impossible for it not to touch, at last its stopped fighting me for a while,

New Sytec fuel pump fitted, like a tosser I ordered the wrong one, thinking then under the car was a 044 motorsport type, with screw in fittings both ends, I ordered a 044 from Sytec, but you guessed I was missing a fitting, and waiting for the post office to deliver took a while, pump went in ok which was a surprise, and I never covered myself with fuel either, bonus!!!, So, prime the pump time, ignition on, whirr, go to start and Vrooom, but the pump sounds like its cavitating, fuel pressure is ok, but feck is it noisy, the idle was still non existent, gave the throttle stop a turn and the engine ticks over, oil pressure is 65psi cold 60psi hot at 1500, I also remembered to fill the engine with water, the engine is tapping like a death watch beetle. sounds like a lazy lifter, oil change is now going to happen, and see if that helps, All in all the engine seems to run on the program in the ECU which is from a grass tracker, I obviously don't expect the map to be spot on but its a start, in fact, off idle its very fluffy,

Two weeks away on hols, and the mind ticking over with little jobs, the chrome centre caps which are needed, were found a few weeks ago, but IMHO, they are just TOO SHINEY for my taste, they area bit blingy...... so, what are my options?, any other thoughts? I'm thinking scuff the chrome off from the sides, save the chrome writing, paint the sides silver the same as the wheels, backfill the area around the chrome letters with a subtle colour,

Assuming they are chromed plastic you can remove it using bleach quite easily would give a better surface to paint but you'll probably loose the chrome on the writing too.

Well done on getting it going again and I hope your back is steadily improving...we seem to have been having similar experiences recently! Incidentally I have a set of those Cosmic centres (which you showed in March) for the Cosmic Mk1's on my other Sprite.

i’d get a sponge and dab some paint on the to tone them down and add some age to them and bring them more in line with the colour of the wheels

Getting wheel nuts to attach the wheels on the Toledo has been an mission mainly because I did not want to compromise the strength of the wheel where it bolts on by making the holes deeper and thus removing thinning out the bolt area,Finally managed to get over to my workshop where my lathe is for a session of machining wheelnuts and inserts, I have scratching about trying to find a ready made soloution, but there nuffink for 40yo wheels that have lost their inserts A few gripes, How hard is it to buy 1" bright mild steel Bar, I cam buy 25mm, 26mm but good old inch stock seems to be unavailable, the steel is for making wheel insert washers for my wheels, the bolt holes are counterbored ONE INCH dia and tapered the seat 45degs so the ! inch stock would have made the job a doddle of interference fit seats, 20 washers took much longer than I would have liked, but they are now done, and the seats do hammer in nicely and don't fall out I'm using dolomite sprint wheel sleeve nuts, but the OD of the flange (Ahem) was a smidge larger than the 1 inch hole, so a also whacked a bit off their OD to fit inside the wheels I also had to drill out the bottom of the bolt hole in the wheel and the sleeve nut just stops 3mm from protruding out the back of the wheel Finally torqued up the wheel nuts to an impressive 45 FT/Lbs bearing in mind the wheel studs are 3/8 unf, next winter they will be 7/16ths if I can find the right ones, then I think I can torque them to about 90 ft/lbs which would bake me a lot happier

Going to waffle a bit here, in my many years of owning modified cars, every single one has had a MotiaLita steering wheel, I think I have had every single style they ever made, flats, dished, slotted, holed, solid, black and silver, even wooden, ,BUT for one design, The "Gun Engraved" which is not engraved, but stamped, Please forgive me I have acquired a wheel that I have never owned, its Cheesy, and one I have absolutely never seen one like this before...................... . . . . . . . . Gun Engraved, ok, But Anodised YELLA !!!!!!!!!!!, I had to Have it
