Nothing wrong with electronic pumps or ignitions if they are engineered right, millions of production cars had them, problem is with the conversion kits now widely available. I've had a lumenition ign and facet pump on my elan for the 30 years I have had it and they had clearly been on there for some time then, you can still get them lumenition but they are £200 rather than £20 of the cheap kits perhaps you get what you pay for.
On my range rover I carry a spare ign amp in the glove box just like you would points, it's even quicker to change than points if the need arose.

Me an' Alan (mostly Alan) fitted a new master cylinder which hopefully brings the brakes issues to an end since theres now nolonger any original brake parts on the car...

I do like a minor , had a nice modified one back in the 80s I’d love to own a totally stock one again When I was a kid one of our neighbours who was I’d say in his late 70s and was a ww2 veteran he had a government disability minor with all the controls fitted , that was also dark blue

You can't beat a Minor. Keep plugging away. It took me nearly 4 years to get mine back on the road. They're great cars and as long as they aren't too rusty are so easy to work on. My mate has a 1950 lowlight and it had been initially issd to a disabled war veteran.

Hi, Nice car, similar to ours. Can you tell me if they are standard wheels or the larger van type? Cheers Steve.

Having designed wheelchair accessible vehicles in the past it is cool to see one of this era.
Can I ask a favour, I'm trying get a sense of what height my lowlight should sit. Could you let me know the height off the ground of the front and back edges of the sill on yours?

Thought I aught to clean the old thing up a bit now it actually works. Somewhat matt finish to start with... Some G10 and some elbow grease... More "work in progress" And the finished article...

Could you let me know the height off the ground of the front and back edges of the sill on yours? like so? Perfect, thanks. That confirms my mock-up is not sitting miles off stock height, only around 1.5cm under yours That polished up a treat btw!

You've done a great job cleaning the bodywork up, I'm fascinated by these conversions since working on a pair of mk5 golf track cars one of which had hand controls and seeing a guy use them going through Eau Rouge full chat essentially 1 handed was something special

Lovely car, lovely photos...
I must get out and find some good locations to take picture of mine before the shine goes away (I'm rubbish at cleaning cars and we've got a hosepipe ban soon).

My yellow [off fleet GPO Telephones] MM1000 van was VDC 846J. It had the LC 1098cc (soup bowl pistons) AND a 10p size hole 'restrictor' carb mount flange...
*removing the whole intake, swapped for a 'cooking' saloon did improve the 'available pep'!!

I don't think I've ever seen that color blue polished up before. Only ever all chalky and dull, which I think it goes like overnight, if photos are to be believed.
