The whole car is based on a MK3 XR3i, so I wouldn't be surprised if they are re-skinned Escort doors.
Way too much money........ You can buy a genuine 308 GTB for under £20K these days. Oh, and what about the 400 series, they're dirt cheap. Not only that but you can buy an Elise for around £11K.

Don't know really - I think I just like it because it's different. Dutton Pheaton's are f ucking ugly as well, but I love them (shame I'm over 6 foot though ) Why are all the guys that I know that drive minis really tall?? I would agree that there seems to be something weirdly wrong with these replicas - I think its because they are sometimes built poorly and normally don't quite look 'right' - often the wheel arches are the give away where they are positioned/shaped to suit the doner chassis on which the car is based. Theres also something rather lame about a mundane car masquerading as something exotic - it is much cooler to modify the mundane car mechanically to give it 'supercar' performance whilst leaving the appearance alone. Having said that, I agree with Rmad that some replica cars seem acceptable - Lotus 7, GT40, AC Cobra, Porsche 356 etc. I think this is because either the original is so rare and unobtainable i.e GT40, even if you had the money you couldn't buy one and/or the industry that has built up around building these types of cars is so large, that the quality and performance of the replicas often surpasses that of the originals.

Why are all the guys that I know that drive minis really tall?? Not sure really..............being tall really restricts the cars you can own though I really wanted an MG Midget before I bough my current Mini, and there was no way I was going to fit in that !

Ha Ha iRocco, My old house mate was of such a height and build that he has to modify the seat runners in his Minis to get the chairs further back than intended. He once took me out for a spin in his Dads MGB GT, he had to drive that with the 'Roll back' sunroof open in order to fit in

Not sure really..............being tall really restricts the cars you can own though I really wanted an MG Midget before I bough my current Mini, and there was no way I was going to fit in that ! How tall are you then? I'm 6'2", and have no problems fitting in a Spridget - just make sure that you have a smaller steering wheel!! Once you are seated, they are surprisingly comfortable. The only problem is getting in and out with the hood up, which is not so easy.

I'm 6'3" - plus the Midget I went to test drive had a hard top on at the time so was nearly impossible to get in! My buckets are pushed right back so they touch the rear 'bins' (pockets) and the support where the back seats used to be I also had to remove the legs on the subframes were on so the seat sat a lot lower in the car .

It must curse word the owners of the real thing off a bit too. Whenever I see a Porsche 356 or a Cobra I always assume it's a replica because the real things are pretty rare. These cars come in the same category as fake Burberry clothing IMO Not only the owners, but the manufacturers too. An awful lot of work and expense went into the developement of the 911, 356, Cobra, et al, and then some prick comes along and thinks he has the right to take a few moulds off one and start making replicas. I know some fake snakes have a better chassis than the originals (not too hard) but it's hardly the point. If these guys are so sure they can make a decent car why don't they design one from scratch rather than selling them on the back of somebody else's success. The Ultima and the Noble GTO are living proof that a kit car designer can come up with a viable and successful original design. All right so there both Lee Noble designs, but if he can do it why can't others? Lack of talent? It makes me laugh that there have been loads more supercar replica kits sold than have ended up on the road. Some of them are allegedly impossible to finish anyway.

I don't mind the replicas if they have "a heart" to go with the looks. Ive seen fake snakes with 4 cylinder engines!

Have you read all the Q & A's under that fake Ferrari ad? there are some right cockers on the bay. One lad starts complaining about the low standard of Grammar used in Ebay ads!!!
I have written to the seller objecting to the previous enquirers rather sweeping remarks about english folk.

Surely it should be advertised as having "three months" tax remaining, rather than "three month's". The tax doesn't "belong" to the month, so the apostrophe can't signify a clause of ownership, and it cannot possibly denote missing letters or the contraction of two words.
Nit-pick THAT Mr. Pedantry! Ha! ;D
