Some nice cars there ... especially the Fiat
Looking at the falcon it looks like a U.K. Granada middle section/tub with revised front and rear styling on it ... very nice
The Torino looks fantastic , very clean can’t wait to to see it in colour love a bit of yellow

Thanks redratbike, I have a soft spot for Fiat 124s they were ahead of their time and looked just right, just a sweet little motor. Spot on with the Falcon styling, I believe our model Falcon was lightly based on the uk Granada of the time, just like our Holden Commodore was based on the uk Opel Commodore.

Productive day, put a lick of high fill on the top and sides of the boot channel. Luckily they were rust free, Now for the always entertaining game of “what’s behind door number 1” curse word, that’s a 3 layer repair, looks like I will be making repair panels tomorrow, On the bright side, it’s not bad for a 51 year old car.

Made up the patch panels today. I’ll try to button it up in the next few days and then move onto the other side which is no as bad. I’ll unpick the old panels and slide the new ones into place, it should look factory fresh 👍

Very very cool, looking forward to seeing the progress on this.
That Falcon was awesome! This Torino should be a good laugh with that crate motor though.

Thanks mate, your Maverick is a awesome and with the EFI you have the best of both world’s.
The Falcon was a nice car, but there’s something about chrome bumper era cars that do it for me. That said, I love just about anything with a bit of character.

Cheers, the EFI has really transformed it.
Any plans to go a similar route with the Torino or stick with a carb?

Yep, definitely going with a Holley EFI system once it’s all back together and all the little bug ironed out. I asked the wife if I could get Holley system now, no words were spoken but her body language was deafening. It was a no 🤣

Oh hey, someone else from the land of fires and floods! Looking forward to seeing this progress, it looks like it got shipped over in great condition!
Edit to add, just in case you're not aware, rockauto is probably your best bet for parts at reasonable prices. Even with how the States is now, they still ship fast. And most stuff is still cheaper even since they started charging GST. You missed out on the boxing day and black friday sales, though!

I have bought a heap of parts from the states and your right, shipping is super fast. I’m lucky the body is super clean for the age of the car and being in Canberra rust won’t be a future issues 👍 Managed to get a bit of work in today,

Bookmarked.
I’m always massively jealous of rust free cars.

My worst worry about dying is my wife selling my stuff for what I told her it cost...

Bookmarked. I’m always massively jealous of rust free cars. Thanks mate, I almost feel like I’m cheating compared to some of the amazing amount rust repairs you guys do.

So moving onto the LHS lower rear 1/4 panel. It’s a double curvature piece and with out an English wheel I have to do it the hard way. Dolly in vice and a panel flipper. My hands are numb and I’m sure the neighbours ears are also 🤣. But getting there, probably 2 to 3 more passes and I’m in business.

Lovely looking car and really enjoying the very high standards that you work to, (Can I ask, do you just use primer over the exceptionally clean prepared areas or something before primer??) Really looking forward to seeing future updates, Nigel
