This is actually Mrs H's modern - apologies for asking on here however I have had no luck searching elsewhere.
It's an 2005 Zafira A, and the windscreen demister is not working properly - recieving only a very low amount of airflow even with the fan switched to its highest setting. However, the rest of the heater settings (face, feet etc) are all fine & recieving the full output of airflow. I don't know if the problem started gradually or suddenly, and Mrs H has not been able to shed light on this...
Researching elsewhere online suggested that this is usually caused by the pollen filter being blocked, but stripping down the passenger side underdash to get at and check this didn't solve anything - no change in the demister output even without the filter in place.
In fact the only progress was working out that if the face level vents are all closed when the air is set to the screen, then the air flow to the screen is improved, but still not at the rate it should be. Am I correct that the issue is therefore the diverter flaps / control system failing to properly direct the airflow? I've tried to find out more about how it works on these & how to get at / fix it but I can only find info for the Zafira B. Did the B use the same system as the A?
The annoying thing is that if something similar happened on my Amazon (which actually has a better heater!) everything can all be accessed in seconds...
