part of the reason my buggy projects fail to advance, regularly getting side tracked by other toys A large pressure washer for free that needed a service and fuel filter Some of mine and my sons bikes, needing lots of feteling My birthday present to myself, which has decided to only run on two cylinders, so will need looking at A 1.8t motor to be fitted to my rail once I get round to finishing it An ex school computer storage, being converted into a mobile workbench, but currently a handy place to pile up carp Will try to sort pictures of some of my other bits on the side Ttfn Glenn

Yet again got distracted by a motorcycle project, and it's not even mine. A good friend was looking for a project, and this popped up on marketplace near me, again the caddy was called into play to collect it. When normality returns I will have a little jolly out to deliver it. Scotland to Somerset It's a 1980 kawasaki zx9r, bit of a beast with 140 bhp Ttfn Glenn

A few more of my side projects A pillar drill that was getting thrown out at work, cleaned and painted, Just need to sort the 3 phase supply to run it, leant against it is a 500 kawasaki engine that may be going into a buggy Space heater, was given this as it would not run properly, I had to free up the carbon vacuum pump, changed the fuel filter and adjusted the spark plug, still need to clean out the fuel tank, but that's a job for another day And yes I do need to tidy up Ttfn Glenn

1980 zx9r?
Can't believe they binned the drill! Can't you just swap in a single phase motor?

Yes that is a t reg zx9r, belongs to a friend, will be delivering it to him in May when I go to a wedding down south. Currently a non runner due to a ignition/wiring fault, previous owner butchered the loom Could fit a single phase motor, but am in the process of running a 3 phase line to my bit of the shed, have a 2 post lift to install, once I finish replacing the lift nuts (another stalled project) Ttfn Glenn

I thought zx9r started in 1994. That aluminium cradle frame doesn't look like a 1980 bike.

It's a 99t, when first launched was intended to be the sports beast but rapidly overtaken by other models so became more of a sports tourer Ttfn Glenn

Yet again getting distracted by motorcycles. First was a zontes tiger 125, bought as a non runner, a session of fault finding showed it was down on compression, pulled the head and barrel to find rings stuck in the piston, a few spins around the ultrasonic cleaner and careful prying freed the rings, just waiting for some gaskets to arrive and it can be reassembled and hopefully fired up Another moment of weakness saw myself and son dragging home another motorbike, not Chinese this time, Korean no less, this one was a hyosung rx125, but imported and badged as an AJS. Also a non runner, lots of electrical problems this time, wires cut, budged and disconnected. Will need to get a new cdi and a starter relay, also a selection of 5mm bolts to reattach various parts, Turns out it's a bit of a rarity, only about 80 ever registered and less than 200 of the hyosung variant, trouble is rare doesn't mean valuable, just a pain to find parts for Ttfn Glenn

Got some shed time in and progressed with the motorbikes, first was the ajs, with the dodgy wiring getting a good dose of looking at, now have all the lights working, just waiting for some more bits to arrive so I can hopefully get the ignition working. The zontes parts had arrived, so started bolting the engine back together, much twirling of spinners and the moment of truth arrived, connect up the battery some fuel down its throat and it burped into life, ran fine then the problems started, it wouldn't switch off, so this one has some electrical gremlins also, next I looked at the other side and found oil running out, so will need to open it up again Ttfn Glenn

Things have been progressing with the two 125s, pulled the top off of the zontes to find I had trapped a piece of rubber between the barrel and crankcase, put back together and runs beautifully, still have the minor wiring hiccup to sort, then it's off to mot. The ajs has been getting most of the attention Needed to make a new gasket for the stator cover to keep the oil in, then changed the filter and filled it with fresh oil. Would have strapped the tank on and had a spin, but during it's time in the wild, the bottom of the fuel tap had been mangled. So play stops until more parts arrive, well not completely stop as will be helping son with his bike projects This Is his cbr1000 cafe project Ttfn Glenn

Ajs is now running and pretty much together, just waiting for some parts, so I can finish the electrics, once the v5 arrives can get a number plate made and get it through an mot. The zontes is still waiting for me to chase down a problem with the ignition switch, and also waiting for v5, number plate and mot test. Having zero self restraint, and a marketplace spot led to yet another toy joining the collection, A Kawasaki zx9r, suffered from some dodgy street fighter modifications, corroded wiring and excess satin black Butchered frame Tractor style exhaust A bit grubby? Hose pipe used for a carburetor breather Son sanding the tank back from black Future plans include this nose fairing Ttfn Glenn

The corrosion had wrecked the fuse box, circuits getting no power or reduced voltage, so the bay of e provided a replacement, plugged in, cleaned the fuse contacts and all the electrics sprang into life, well the few bits that were left. Checked for sparks, all good, connected up some fuel and tried starting. FAIL. Gave squirt of carb cleaner, success it roared into life, then promptly stopped, carbs needed to be stripped and fired through the ultrasound bath. Today screwed the carbs back on, fueled it up, and success, it fired and ran, will need to sort out some downpipes, then it should run better. The little 125 Cheap zontes needed checking over for mot, While testing the back brake, noticed the swingarm was flapping about!! Probably like this from new, bit of tightening of the spindle cured that, just the wiring problems to sort, Open the headlight to find a collection of twist and tape, repairs? A few disconnected wires and general bodgyness. Sorted the faults so now have electrics that work. Just a number plate and rear reflector to fit Thee wires, three joins each 12 inches long??? Ttfn Glenn

Bit more shed time today, got on with removing the steelworks that had been bolted to the alloy frame Dissimilar metal corrosion anyone? Quick attack of the hacksaw led to the removal of the remains of the subframe Just for giggles balanced some bits on it Ttfn Glenn
