Got the Kawasaki running, moved off the lift, ready to pull the front wheel and forks out again, loaded the honda onto the lift. Things did not go quite to plan, as it decided to fall and land on me, luckily just a few grazes and son was on hand to help rescue me. Proceeded to start stripping the brakes, Thought the carbs were grotty, well the brakes were equally as bad Calipers were sticking, so yet again the ultrasound was getting another major workout Ttfn Glenn

In my defence, I was let out unsupervised, Went to get another cbr1000f as a supply of spares for the other 3 Whilst chatting to the seller, he mentioned some of the other machines he had which was pretty much my lottery win shopping list, but he did have something that was in my price range. 1982 kawasaki gpz1100, needs lots of work, Will need to get rid of some of my other toys to clear space for my latest insanity Ttfn Glenn

Work is progressing slowly on the gpz1100, planning to reinstate the fuel injection, cleaned the throttle bodies, freed up the injectors, test ran the pump, now the fun starts. The original system was rather basic, plus almost all the parts are now pure unobtainium Bitten the bullet and bought a microsquirt to handle the ecu duties, giving ebay a workout for a selection of sensors to connect the box of mystery to the engine Should be fun as I tend not to play well with modern technology Once some of the parts turn up, I can drive myself daft with getting it to play on the kitchen table Ttfn Glenn

The zx9r is now ready for mot, so I can focus on one of my other toys. Starting to reassemble the gpz1100 so I can do some test running with it, already know the clutch is stuck so that will need to be looked at, am going to need a new battery but currently the parts honda has donated it's one Ttfn Glenn

Little bit more time spent at the shed, pulled the clutch apart on the gpz 1100 It had stuck solid with standing, had to pry all the plates apart, then put it back together Spent some time getting some of the grot off the exhaust, Ttfn Glenn

Pulled the big pressure washer home, connected water and electric, fired straight up, result Here's son getting wet washing the driveway, couple of leaks from the fittings on the end of the lance, hopefully some ptfe tape will fix it Definitely bangs out the pressure, and the burner seems to be working fine, but did take some time before it was burning cleanly Since most of my time is getting soaked up by motorcycles, here's my sons cbr1000f which now has the later wider wheels fitted from the donor cbr, which has now been completely stripped Ttfn Glenn

As part of the wheel swap, the rear caliper bracket was swapped, this meant I had to cut the retainer from the later swingarm and weld it onto the earlier one Ttfn Glenn

Lots of progress being made. Wish I could find similar levels of time! Anyway, is that a Manta Ray buggy on the drive? Had a project one years ago, never should have sold it, wasn't till after it had gone I realised how rare they are

What I thought was a crack turned out to be a touch more serious So that's a hole in the crankcase then, will be trying a jb weld repair, see if the reality is as good as the tales Ttfn Glenn

The crankcase repair has started but put on hold until more jb weld arrives Son has been having a tidy up at the shed, also giving me grief about not getting the two post lift, up and running, so have decided to crack on with it and ordered some new lift nuts. With the shed somewhat tidy, there was space for another project, and Facebook obliged with a 41 year old Suzuki that has been off the road since 88. Mostly there but a fair bit of surface rust, various bits have been pirated over the years, so will have to start scouring Ebay for some bits Suzuki gs550 katana An example of what sitting around for so many years has done to it, is the air filter And the the alloy engine Ttfn Glenn Forgot to say, this is sons project not mine

Couple of years ago I picked up a 2 post lift in need of some repairs, One of the lift nuts needed replacement, started pulling it apart, then suffered a major mojo failure, so it sat getting in the way since, Encouragement from son got me back into the mood to get it working So far one lift nut replaced and started pulling the other one apart Ttfn Glenn

Second lift nut replaced and the columns all back together, next will be the fun of getting them upright and into position Son has put his projects on hold so he can get my cbr1000f back up and running, only been dead for 15 years Quick clean of the carbs and stick a battery in. Took a couple of attempts, then kicked into life, coughed a bit then up onto all 4. Son is getting this one sorted as my birthday present Sweep keeping us company Ttfn Glenn

Sweep is a terrible dog to photograph, perhaps he is camera shy. Son and myself had another session on the lift, both columns now up, just need to find the bolts for it now Definitely gaining progress. Bought some extras for the pressure washer, makes it far more useable Try another picture of sweep and see if can get him looking any less stupid Ttfn Glenn

Lift still not finished, been concentrating on a tidy up as the place was a disaster area My caddy van filled up with junk and lots of, that will be useful one day items, All gone now. Sorted out loads of bins that were now surplus Arranged a new home for them, but still loads to tidy up But starting to see the end now Beetle neatly away Space for more bikes? Or just a stupid collie? Few more days may see the tidying finished, then I can finish the lift installation Ttfn Glenn
