Gave them a clean and then washed the car. My 4 year old daughter did a great job helping! Couldn't possibly fit them on a dirty Jag! I'm made up with the look - purposeful and chunky. π Before:

Just driven it to the petrol station and pumped the tyres up - drives spot on. So much more grip in the wet than the previous tyres. The traction control light would have a disco if I breathed on the go pedal. Managed a full-bore acceleration with no such issues π

New wheels will give the muscle car look when lowered.
Jag Celtic alloys also look very good on them.
I'm amazed that your headlining is not sagged, seems to be standard on them.
The 3.2 drinks as much as the 4.0, Jaguar did the same on the X-type where the 2.5 and 3.0 had similar mpgs.

The 3.2 drinks as much as the 4.0, Jaguar did the same on the X-type where the 2.5 and 3.0 had similar mpgs. Headlining has been replaced! I find it mad that they never did anything about that - my old x350 was also sagging! Yeah they do have a muscle car quality to them - hence the torque thrusty feeling they give me. I'm made up with them! I was originally after a 4.0 but couldn't find any decent ones. I test drove a rough 3.2 locally and realised I'd be happy with one as it was so torquey and responsive. I widened the search to include 3.2s and this popped up a few hours away and couldn't resist it

Had some fun over the last few days as the battery was flat as a pancake. I charged it over night and it was good to go. Drove to work no problem. Completely flat at home time! Alternator is strong so it was either a parasitic drain (please no!) or a dead battery.
I broke out the multimeter which confirmed the alternator was string. The cca dropped below 10 but only just... 9.3. I ran a battery drain test which came out really low so I'm hoping it's the battery. A quick turnaround last night saw me buying a battery and fitting it. Started fine this morning so I'm feeling hopeful!

Lovely, as has been said, each journey feels like an occasion, One tip, don't ever start the car for short durations like getting it out of the garage or move it around to wash it and turn it off again. Likely to get bore wash where it will then spin over and not fire up again, Park and ride did this to mine at Gatwick Airport, Was unreliable after that, had to scrap it Some cars are worse than others for borewash - Vauxhall Senators and Carltons are bloody awful For me the test is how "fuely" (If that's a word) they smell at the rear on a cold start Not too much and they'll probably be fine - stink of fuel then borewash is a real possibility Liking the new wheels but is the rolling radius still the same as they appear to fill the arches a little better?

I doubt it's exact but it's pretty close from standing them next to each other. I'll get the tyre sizes and do a proper comparison to see. They'll fill the arches even better when it's lowered a bit!

Love a Jag, My daily Nice! I had a 2003 4.2 that I loved to bits but I started getting worried about gearboxes and sold it for no real reason! Like when I had my Supra and started feeling paranoid about future headgasket issues (I was paid VERY poorly back then!) and sold it but it's probably still going nearly 10 years later π I remember having a panic about a what turned out to be a heat shield on my old s13 200sx - thought it was the big end π sometimes it's best not to know a car's weak points.... Now, has my XJ had steel timing chain guides fitted or not......?

Turns out i had been loosing auto fluid from a chaffed cooler pipe but didnt see any oil on the floor as it had all been soaked up into the under tray.

At least you have nice fresh oil in the box now!
