...been digging through boxes of old photos today, thought some of them might be of interest (?)... I guess this was 1975ish... An Austin 1300! I was obviously too young to fully appreciate the Issigonis masterpiece...

My dads collection of cars was a fest of Blue ovals all bar one.
Mk2 Cortina Super (Silver Fox)
Mk1 Capri 1600 XL
Mk3 Cortina 2000E
Morris Marina Van
(then it gets bit poo in my opinion)
Mk3 Escort Van
Mk2 Fiesta XR2
1.6 Orion
Mk6 Escort 1.6
Focus ST170 (present day).
If only he'd had the sense to store the Silver Fox or the Capri for he's future son! haha

Not surprisingly my old man had the japanese car bug early on. Which rubbed onto me.
Fiat 500/ford anglia/imp/morris 1100
1972 lime green Toyota Celica ST
1972 white Toyota Carina saloon
1974 light blue Toyota CROWN (toyoglide!)
1976 mustard Datsun 120Y saloon
1981 red Datsun bluebird estate
Everything after that was non japanese...he got tired of ziebarting the cars......
1985 Volvo 240
1989 Volvo 240 estate
followed by successive german cars....

Yours truly, back in 1985 / 86. Wreck on the trailer was dad's then new toy, the last mortal remains of a 1937 Riley 1.5 Litre 12/4 Lynx Sprite Tourer (or just a Riley Lynx Sprite) when it arrived home. The ex-army lightweight L-R was his 'station car', and general hack, fitted with a Fairey overdrive (guess who was given the sticker!) & free wheeling front hubs.

The first car I ever went in was my uncles Singer Chamois. He picked me up from the hospital in it. If only he had picked me up in something else ;D

I was taken home from the hospital in my Grandad's 2 litre Capri apparently, as the ol' man (who wasn't as old then! ;D) was about 500 miles out of town apparently. Funny that I never caught the Ford bug isn't it? Although the Imp thing came from going to Knockhill as a kid and seeing the latter end of the Imps' major presence there, and the Russian motor thing probably has to do with my dad's old mate by the name of "Red Jimmy" (no kidding! ) who had eight Ladas and two Moskvitches, though not all at the same time! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Can't find any pics though! When we moved house months back we misplaced loads of them!
