Here's a nice little video of me rolling out of Goodwood, courtesy of the official RR videographer BiMU and his excellent crew. This is actually the first time I've seen the E31 moving (from the outside I mean, obviously) - it looks pretty sick, even if I do say so myself https://www.instagram.com/p/CQLOUSMow6K

HoTWire & BiMU came to The Auto Bahn to film some of our silliness, including this nice video on my Continental, and we had some chats on de-hoarding to facilitate expensive purchasing I pretty much hate watching myself / hearing myself speak, but it's a nice video all the same. Thank you dudes

No updates for a while, because I've not done anything (largely due to being in Greece), but today this finally happened: Frankly unbelievable how inept Auto Windscreens have been. 12th of May I first spoke to them and made an insurance claim, so 9 weeks ago. Lucky I don't need to use the car, not that they know that or ever asked. It's been a ridiculous saga which I cba to type or even think about, but if I hadn't called them constantly to find out what was happening nothing would have. Anyway, one OE BMW rear screen (only ones available in the UK, German suppliers won't ship since Brexshit) now safely installed. I must say the fitter was absolutely excellent - proper car guy who has been doing this for years, loved the E31 and totally understood my pleas to be extra extra careful of the paint & headlining etc. I didn't need to worry. I have 10 days of house arrest now, so no car fun for me 'til after that. Boo.

Unbelievably it has been a year already. I celebrated this by taking the Lincoln out for a little bimble on Saturday. Still very much in love with the big silly yacht This thread is now ridiculously out of date, which I really will address soon, but the S124 in the background will give you something of a hint as to progress..

I read this as I was abroad! Fair play to attain ring a great list of cars. It’s easier said than done, and having the means to fund them goes a long way . The work on the S124 and E31 look great! I think everyone is loving the lad yacht here! Can I ask how you inspected the car prior to buying it?

Yet another promising thread on the site that keeps delivering. Why did I waste years with morons and dreamers on PH, only for them to ban me? One page down, thirteen to go.

Just stumbled across this (not gonna lie after the bigging up in my build thread I stalked your profile to see what you had 😂)..
What a collection of toys! I'm not normally a BMW fan but that is something special. And the colour is amazing. Likewise I'm not a yank tank fan but that ginormous Lincoln is hilariously brilliant. Love a super diesel so thats a win from me!

This thread is now ridiculously out of date, which I really will address soon, but the S124 in the background will give you something of a hint as to progress.. A year is 'soon' right? HAHAHAH Right. In the year since I updated this thread I have made 2 fairly large changes to this car (and a ton of little things). There are still more to come, but I want to get this up to date first. #1 - replaced what remained of the stock suspension, to make it do silly things https://www.instagram.com/p/CVdApmUIMpY This was all quite a while ago, so I'll largely let the photos do the talking, but please shout if anything is particularly interesting & I'll elaborate. Some boxes of expensive: Remove the entire interior: First phase is routing the miles of airlines (3/8" pipe) and cabling. Note I'm also taking the opportunity to fit a decent stereo system, but also that I cannot lose any interior space at all. This is my daily / DIY / tip run / parts-chaser / baby carrier - so there is no compromise on space or the fuly flat floor once the seats are folded flat. I also want to retain the full-size spare wheel, so that easy option to cramming everything in is also out. Luckily these old Benz' have some handy cubby holes, primarily in the boot floor where the 7-seat option (which I do not have / want) would fold down into. RCA's (x3), airlines, speaker cable, power cables, and AirLift loom, all running through various OE wiring conduit (that's a Colonelk ) & done. Other than speaker cables hanging out in a few places, you'd never know Power comes from here (via comedy fuse, & a monster cable).. ...to the smaller cubby under the boot floor, here: which will also eventually house the amps and stereo guff. Mocking up the AirLift stuff in the larger cubby: Gradually mounting everything, and routing/hiding the cabling behind trim: Some 'carpentry', to mount the controller at a good angle for the pipes: Water trap: Hidden wiring: Done, ish, for now.. Had made a start on connecting up the airlines at this point, but had basically run out out time for RRG'21. I'd not touched the actual suspension, so other than having to put the seats back in, the car wasn't disabled. I unpacked the suspension just to make jizzy faces at it, then packed it back away for another day (wasn't long - will add more updates in a sec.) Commonwealth Motorsport adjustable rear arms and airbag mounting kit (from Canada, but I had them shipped to the chap I bought the Lincoln from, so they arrived in the boot of that) and Slam Specialities SS5 airbags (which a friend from Chicago brought with her for me when she came here on holiday - apparently they were much bigger than she "expected airbags to be", hahahaha) Quick mockup (with the old SLS bottom arm & cut spring) then it was time to give up & prep for RRG. ...which basically meant fitting the wheels I bought for this car before I even had the car, but had never fully fitted until now: Realising the centre caps didn't quite fit so fixing that: (they are OE MB/AMG caps, but I hadn't realised the OZ AMG wheels need caps like 2mm smaller than 'normal' AMG caps, and they're somehow even more unobtaneum than the wheels) Then we're good to go. OOOOOSH! This looks like it's on stilts now I've been used to seeing it on air for the past year or so, haha Few pics from RRG'21... First in the campsite, as always: The CROWN is VIP End of another awesome show: More soon. (*soon)

Post-RRG meant time to finish this silly balloon balancing shiznizz off.. Fronts have these platforms to make sure the airbags sit on the OE bottom arms at the correct angle The instructions from Commonwealth Chassisworks said the supplied plate & bolt through the bottom are were enough to hold it all together, but I didn't like that much so welded them on: Ends up looking something like this: (that's a MaxSpeedingRods E36 coilover, in case I didn't mention it before, but now with the spring removed) Rear: (new bottom arms have the bag perches integrated - and the top hats bolted to the bags slot into the OE spring locations on the chassis, same as the front) LOL! There are so many steps missing here. This was basically a FULL weekend of solid graft for myself & Colonelk, then a follow-up session to finish a few bits & bobs where we realised some of the fittings I'd ordered weren't going to work so needed to wait for more. Highly recommend Only Charged Dubs for everything of that nature. End result with Brabus wheels on: I've already shared a video of it doing up & down things in the previous post Cubby holes ended up looking like this: Pretty pleased with that First drive: Drives lovely. Big (as big as will fit) good quality bags means you don't have to run massive pressure to lift this big ol' girl up, which means the ride is good. Next stop was Abbey Motorsport to get it properly aligned at 'Drive' height. The AirLift 3P has pre-sets, and is all controllable from a phone via Bluetooth, so is pretty snazz. I drive this car very low all the time. I don't understand / cannot abide cars on air & tiny stretched tyres that drive around looking like they're on stilts, with massive ridiculous arch gaps, then air out when parked. Air ride for me means I can drive low all the time, then pop it up a bit if I need to get in a carpark or over a particularly monstrous speed bump. Then air out when parked Back home - these 2 live at home with me, everything else is at TAB. One more big job to bore you with, then we're up to date. Soon, honest.

I'm sure you know my thoughts and have possibly wondered why there are mysterious white stains on the paint after Retro Rides shows, but just to re-iterate it's a perfect build for me, absolutely cock on.
