Trying to sort out the idle problem yesterday, been watching a German dude on YouTube with lots of videos on CIS injection on old Mercedes V8's which is basically the same system as on the Bentley engine, A couple of good pointers about vacuum leaks and a little filter I didn't know was in there to check, on the inlet line, I checked all the pipe work and didn't find any cracked failed lines , until I looked under the the air intake, I replaced them all as this goes straight into the inlet manifold and was probably why it wanted to run rich to as well as idle high, I also plumbed in the servo so I should have assisted brakes now to. Hoping this was the problem I have been chasing all along , fingers crossed for later on when I get to see if its worked

looks like it wasn't the main problem unfortunately , but have found an intermittent over voltage relay which was hopefully the main culprit as well as the vacuum leak !! This turned up today from the USA to cheer me up , thanks for the eBay global shipping program ! and a man from the DVLA came to inspect the F1 for the V5 , was the first time I've had an inspection to register a import and was a bit worried from the horror stories I have read but I offered him a cuppa and he couldn't of been nicer and was pleased to see a old F1 and even liked the Patina and told me not to paint it

Ah good stuff!
They wanted to inspect my Maverick, but turned around and said they didn't have anyone nearby so just processed it haha
I think on the whole they just want to make sure it isn't a chop shop special.
Top win on the bell housing!

Trying to get on with some jobs now I'm over my jet lag and shock of going back to work lol ordered another compressor a while ago so that's all plumbed in now ,which has helped the speed of filling up the tank, A friend got me a couple of lenght's of box section to make the bed canvas tilt cover thingy , for machining some alloy wheels centres out for him , I did a few sketches and came up with some brackets to hold it together , but i've water cut some 12mm ply to see how they look first. need to dig out my builder flood lights now its getting darker in the nights to

good day on the truck today started the mountings for the bed planks, mark out, drill thought then put a riv-nut in the box, then screw the plank on with some M6 countersunk machine screws , the tie down brackets will go through the box though, wooden template doesn't look to bad for the curve either heres the old one i made for my '58 single cab, and will probably go with the same height as the roof with the COE to , just looks better to me and will be easier to get under things this is the plan for the mountings etc

thanks Grizz ,
I've been watching him rebuild/update that truck for a while now , I think it looks really good but I wouldn't of clear coated it personally , I saw the video of his mate doing all the airbrush work and it looked so awesome in the matt, I didn't think it needed the clear really, but each to there own and it would be boring if we all liked the same stuff now wouldn't it ?

Cheers Ralph, I hope it looks RaD, that's what I'm going for lol I was measuring up the canvas last night to see how much I need , I'm hoping it'll come out well , I think it will be so kool with a bunk bed in there at the front to, be like camping but you can drive it , I used to sleep in the back on my split all the time even when it rained it was nice,

this weeks jobs envolved the back cover and some wiring for the second battery, got the old roller out that I made a few years ago , and turned up some new dies for the 30mm box section, it didn't do to well with the main roller in nylon, started to slip once i had a little bow in the box, so made another one out of ally this morning and knurled it to get more 'grab' which should let me put more of a bow into it , made these brackets out of some spare titanium I had for the bottom , should look good after I paint the frame black and heat the up a bit. an I have ordered some matching bolts as I haven't got enough that match, I made it a bit higher first but don't think I like the height difference , as it bolts together I can always make some longer ones at a later date, hopefully get the bow to follow the roof with the new roller I made, I also went through the engine ignition again last Friday and found the front crankshaft sensor out of spec , so cross reference the part numbers and found one off a Alpha for a better price, £32 instead of £390 plus VAT, this now measures the proper resistance, so hopefully that might be the problem with the starting issue, also brought a new set of plugs and a new timing belt for the Dizzy's and some new rotor arms, will buy some new dizzy caps next time I get payed to,

Absolutely mega... As always!
Is that a silhouette of the Offspring conspiracy of one logo cut out of the titanium brackets?

Absolutely mega... As always! Is that a silhouette of the Offspring conspiracy of one logo cut out of the titanium brackets? Yep one of my favourite bands ever ! The air ride brackets and 4 link stuff has the logo cut in some of the bits to, but you can't see them unless you crawl around underneath, so thought I would continue the theme on top forgot to post this the other day to. A guy on insta I've been talking with for a while is having this built by Wayne in Intergalactic custom's . makes my rear look a bit basic http://instagram.com/p/CTwwaPDqso9

Ahhh good man! The Offspring are a top band of mine too! If you come down to the Retro Rides Goodwood weekend thingy, we need to 100% grab a couple beers I've been following that build too, Wayne does some mega work and can't wait to see the diner up and running, will have to get them both together and start selling some beers out the back of yours or something haha

The new ally die wheel worked a treat this evening, the knurl helped pull it through much better , needs a little more bend to match and its there I rekon bit dark now after work though, rain stopped for a bit though to get this pic before I came home for tea

and then there was 2, with bit more of a bend in them now, extra battery is all wired in now with a smart charge relay but with an old one till I buy a new leisure battery, Should be alright to power the air ride compressors and the stereo , amp etc need to make a clamp down for it still, Made the rest of the brackets , but half of them with a smaller hole so I could tap them M8 to save using nuts and neaten it up a bit , thats my stash of titanium plate gone now though.. Gonna make another 2 'hoops' as its a long stretch for the cover to sit across and the front one is just right for a small double bunk to fit @ 4ft X 7ft , but that another part of the plan, also gotta pick up some 3"x1" treated planned timber to go across the top of them to support the roof,

drew these up in CAD and 3D printed a couple out to test fit , should help with the sharpe edge when the canvas is on , spoke to a friend today and he has a few TK trucks and has a spare canvas for the back and is nearly the same size so could be a easy fix for the back
