Well always dreamed about owning a COE and finally managed to get one , will be here next Tuesday, It needs some work , But it's on it's OG chassis with some newer truck axle's bolted up to it, Its a shame that some of the panels have been blasted as inside the cab seems nice and I do like a bit of patina, if i can get some of the white primer off and there's red underneath I will try and blend in the other blasted panels if it can , Plan's are to put it on air bag's so it sit's on the floor when parked and the ride is alright , build a AirStream type ally clad camper on the back with a 60's Lear jet style door , had the idea on my head for many years, now just never done it, or maybe a flat bed to take the Datsun round first then a camper.... Probably stick a Cummins 6BT in , but need to see if I can get the Bentley Turbo V8 going first but at around 14 MPG that's not really a option but will see, think this thread maybe a long one

Would it be worth putting it on a more modern chassis - always liked these, looking forward to the build what ever guise it takes. P.

Yeessss, I like where this is going. I would love a COE but the wife would have a fit if it was sitting in the drive. How do you plan to do the Airstream style camper? Can I ask where you got it from? Did you import it yourself?

Are they pickup truck or actual truck axles? its got MAN truck axles at the moment, Yeessss, I like where this is going. I would love a COE but the wife would have a fit if it was sitting in the drive. How do you plan to do the Airstream style camper? Can I ask where you got it from? Did you import it yourself? I've worked it all out with a sort of whale bone structure routed out of marine ply that all slots together and then clad with ally sheets and insulated and clad inside with something like pine , when its all together with the skin etc it will triangulated it all for strength, drop floor in between the chassis rails to give more head room but keep the outside not to high, Its been in the UK a while , they are pretty big to ship to be honest, i have been keeping an eye out for years and seen maybe 15 for sale over the past 10 , maybe i'm not looking in the right places though, YES! I can't wait to see where this goes. Also, I live in Virginia if you find parts that wont ship internationally let me know, I could help out! that is an awsome offer thank you dude

LPG and a big V8 would make for economical running especially as you would be able to use the gas for running appliances in the camper part.

If I've misread, forgive me, but how'd it wind up with a Bentley V8 in it?

If I've misread, forgive me, but how'd it wind up with a Bentley V8 in it? NO you didn't it has got a Bentley Turbo 6.75L V8 and TH400 auto box in it out of a early 90's Turbo R , its the later fuel injection type with an ECU etc , I will try and get it going and see what its like, but i have found a cummins 6BT now I've been told that a previous owner wanted to turn it into a tow truck, to go into London and save the £200 a day charge, I think I would of picked something a bit more economical though.

It's Here , spent far to long looking at it and measuring how much i need to lower it . just got home now , here's some pictures big turbo on a V8 My favorite angle so far True to the sellers word he throw a copy of boxes in the cab that came with the truck when he got it in 2011 , I went trough them just before i left tonight and am so happy with what i found These emblems weren't in any of the photos i had of the truck before i brought it and have been trying to find a set for sale to no avail. the wings and steps have been blasted and primered but the cab and bonnet looks like they have just been blown over in white , will have ago tomorrow and see if there's red under it,

Gave the cab a good clean today and cut back the original paint and brought it back to life a bit and gave it a coat of wax, painted the bonnet badge, found a kool label on the back of the seat from the garage it was sold from , just up the road from where my 240z is from funnily, free'd up all the window and lock mech's also the front fresh air flap in the scuttle , I have also done a lot of measuring and working out the air ride and axle's i'm gonna use, more on that next week hopefully

been doing doing some models in CAD for the camper back . Also I tried to sand back the primer to get to OG paint on one of the doors, but its not happening . so bit the bullet and brought some red paint and will have to age it a bit after. brought some bits for the Bentley motor , so I can try and get it going , hoping it will sound good. the bentley system had quite a few boxes in it , I'm gonnna maybe do one box or none

Would there not be any tubs or fuselages somewhere that is a ready fit to use?
Stainless food containers? Tanker bodies?
Airplane graveyards?
