Good morning all , an extra bank holiday this week for queeny . so plenty of time to get more jobs done on the truck , brought some new disc;s for the front yesterday so i thought I better blast the calipers and make them shiny had some free gold wheel paint the other day , I quite like them in on GOLD to luckily Rebuilt the water pump , was pretty fubar'd all done back on and now doesn't leak ! I have run it up to temp but filled the workshop with fumes , so cracked on with the steering rack mounts and another 3rd mount to triangulate things , I can then push it outside easier to run it a biit longer without gassing myself , this RaD truck came up on COE furom to , Pretty kool with the box ! also made this prototype , had to come up with a new plan as all the other ideas haven't worked out yet can you work out what it is ?

It's a doohicky for sure...
How far from moving under own steam ? done by end of the weekend ?
Always in awe of the vision, work and thinking that goes into builds like this, fascinating to cheer on from the sidelines.

Somehow never seen this thread before. This truck already is RAD, but I can't wait to see it finished...

James I'm hoping it may move under its own steam this weekend , with a jerry rigged prop that I can then use as a pattern for the propshaft maker to copy length and stuff, thanks for the kind words Somehow never seen this thread before. This truck already is RAD, but I can't wait to see it finished... RaD , my favourite word ! I'm getting close. shiny , Pads should be here next few days , Here's the mock up but now in stainless plate with oil-lite bushes and I made a union joint thingy to Its not a Reach-Around like my mate in work suggested either ...lol it will all become clear when you see it in place .. Hopefully

Brakes are now all plumbed in with a bias valve under the bench seat so I can adjust the rear when I carry a load as the usual valve wont work with the air ride , I have stated looking at fitting Bosch 5.2 ABS to as its stand alone and I have all the sensors and bits on the Iveco hubs, But that someting to do later on . fitted a little T25 reservoir bottle under the floor where the og master cylinder was, So i can now fill the fluid from in the cab and it will feed down into the master cylinder for easiness, spare stainless braided hoses from the Datsun fitted the front and one for the back axle to ,which was good,
Also Bent up some copper 8mm tube for the air tank and fitted some moisture traps to save the solenoid block getting sticky, should really make these out of stainless tube now as I have a pattern , but will see if i can find some tube first, and welded up the waste gate exhaust and put the nice tip end on i made ages ago , next up get the box off and put the other tip on that to and fit the copper finisher rings,
Stills load to do though, I always forget how the last 10% take so much longer than you plan for , to get all the little bits done properly and the bits you forgot ,
I'm still waiting on some EN24T to make new track rod ends at the mo but hoping when they're machined up and fitted I can sort the prop and give it a little test drive ,......
...... but I've probably forgot something important lol

Really tidy work as always!
Is that a little block off plate ready for some electric cut outs to be fitted to the exhaust at some point in the future also?

Haven't started the engine since moving the wiring inside the cab , so after some more work on the steering rack mounting frame which needed some bracing to make sure it was up to the job it wouldn't start, no spark again, I went through all the connections again and again but nothing , then while talking to my mate who called in I remembered I had pulled the cover back over the plug for the speed sensor , which is a bit tight, and 2 of the wires had come out of the plug under the cover, so now it runs again but a bit rough but i found the vacuum pipe had come out of the gearbox , creating a leak and also another 2 bolts missing in the oil filler neck that aren't blind and go through into the housing causing a leak , these engines don't like a vacuum leak by the looks of it as the idle control valve wont work properly , I also took that off earlier and gave it a clean and check to see if it works and that was fine just a bit oily inside so a quick clean and back on, So battery on charge and Hoping tomorrow night it will start up fine and idle nice, now i have found all the leaks, Fingers crossed Needs taking off and painting and I think one more little bracing and an extra mount, but now it mounts up pretty nicely and is a lot easier to take on and off. oh and fix the cut feed pipes that someone cut through taking it off there was an old antiroll bar on the old axle so a quick measure and some straps and it look like it will work if i make some mounts for the chassis and some adjustable drop links , its a bit fat but it is a truck after all, also found this kool pick up de-mountable camper
