Hello, I'm going to record a video about this, but figured I'd post up here first as you guys and girls are the backbone of Retro Rides and everything we do. With this year being so all over the place and the advice from government being a bit vague we took the chance to swap in to the Festival Of Speed Weekend, knowing that we may have to cancel outright if we couldn't do that weekend, but hopeful that we would be able to. Subsequently the 4th of July guidance for some hospitality to open gave us a great deal of hope. Sadly we've not had much more detail than that, and there has been no real guidance on numbers of people that can gather. We spoke to Goodwood yesterday and they are as in the dark as we are (sadly). However with the cancellation of Revival more September dates opened up at the circuit and they offered us one of those, figuring it would be a more likely date that we'd be able to run our full event, rather than trimming down the event in order to cope with current guidance. I was pretty keen to keep the dates in July but said I'd go away and have a think. After a walk and a chat with my lovely wife, I had a call with bstardchild (who runs our track side of things), and then this morning Keith (who co-runs the events). We all agreed that we could run in July (if the government let us), but at this point the event would be better if we ran in September. If there is one thing we will always try to do it is to run a better event, than just having any old event. So our new dates for Retro Rides Weekender 2020 are : Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th September (with camping from the Friday, and the extension available to take it through to Monday). If people can't make the dates we will refund your tickets. We are VERY sorry to be moving the event around again and potentially messing up plans. This has not been a decision taken lightly and we hope to never be in this situation again.

Excellent that means I can down tools on the Acty until one week before another deadline Seriously it’s the right decision as there’s too much up in the air currently to make firm plans for 10th July.

It's the right call I reckon, no certainty from government at the moment.
Also it could actually work out well for me, had to cancel when the first date got moved but this new date will be great!

Definitely a good & the right call as time will only help improve the current situation. I have let our members know too & updated our threads etc. with the new dates. With these dates & charging ahead can someone remind me which link I should be sending our Club Members too to get their tickets? Is it - store.retroridesevents.com/ - cause I just bought four tickets through this? Or ... do they have to sign up at - retroridesevents.com/ - first & then click the links from there? Sorry & thank you.

☹️ It’s been a difficult year chaps, fingers crossed but sadly I’ll be away now. How do I get a refund on my camping tickets?

On the plus side, more time to get the car finished! Postponing was the right decision, these must be incredibly difficult times for people in the hospitality, shows and entertainment industry. Fingers crossed for September!

Shall we assume for now that it will go ahead , so book cars in for tracktime on Saturday ? Same rules as before - around 4-6 weeks before the event is our normal process Somewhere between 27th July and 9th August The more confident we are of running the event as we want to run it the earlier we will open up the entries but not before 27th July At that point I should be "unemployed" so will have plenty of time to deal with the deluge of entries

Thankyou for your reply . without going into details these things have a habit of resolving themselves - I handed in my notice because I'm no longer enjoying what I do and it's really important to me that I do - I kinda have an 80/20 approach to work as long as 80% of what I do I like I'll put up with the 20% I don't I reached a point where I was at less than 50% I enjoy - that was a problem for me but not for them so I handed in my notice They have the choice to resolve that - if they do I will still be working for them - if they don't I won't I'm totally relaxed about the situation It's a bit like RR events it's tough work sometimes but on the day the smiles I see are payment 10 fold - in 2007 I turned up late to the first event at Mallory and Keefy found me a space to run on track late in the day been paying that back since Have a picture that makes me smile from the event (no not the on two wheels one that's been over used)
