Just heard the Beaulieu September Autojumble has been cancelled, any news on if Goodwood are thinking of postponing?
From previous statements, the set up time is pretty short. So I’m guessing that decision will be left as long as possible.
It really is a very small team sets up the RR shows - If I mentally count in my head no more than 10 people - each with roles and responsibilities that they know fairly well but everyone has cover of some elements in some way shape or form.
Set up time at the venue is just 3 days - advance prep and organisation of suppliers to deliver the essentials right place right time obviously takes much longer.
Did the latest update mean anything for us/this going ahead? I've seen that Goodwood race course are hosting an event for 6k people in August as a sort of trial.
Yes and no, we're discussing with Goodwood our way forward, it is likely to involve A LOT of paperwork and discussion with councils etc. We'll be giving an update soon, just trying to gather some more facts.
What is it? Reminds me of a Berkley or something like that?
It's an SSC STYLUS CLASSIC , there's an RT version too with wider body and arches . Originally designed by Jeremy Phillips of SYLVA AUTOKITS . He has designed about 11 cars since the 1980's and sold hundreds. All are very successful on circuit . Mine above has won 6 ACSMC Champonships in Sprints and I took it to RETRORIDES last year too . Now been sold regarding building rights , jigs and moulds to SILTECH RACING at Bradenham in Norfok , just 10 minutes from Snetterton . I used to compete against Andy Silman , Dennis's son , the new owners .
Hopefully this September date of 5th and 6th will go ahead . If it does , then it'll be my only event on track with the SSC Stylus in 2020 , curticy of covid-19 . I am itching to book in for tracktime tickets on the Saturday . Pic of it's bonnet up view attached
