I do my own maintenance on my Boxster where I can just to try and avoid the potential wallet emptying of 'specialist' care.
Seized bolts are such a pain and Porsche do like to use dissimilar metals for fun, steel bolts in aluminium hubs what could possibly go wrong near 20 years later.
But you just know the money will be forgotten when you get one of those drives when everything is just right and you're doing it in a Porker.

You may remember I queried your choice of fruit cake with cheese months ago.

After asking around I found out my Dad is also partial to that combination.

He swears by his marmite and banana sandwich so his tastes are quite wide, ie, anything with anything.

Come Xmas time I will join your weird foods gang and try it.

What about strawberry jam or bramble jelly with a good mature cheese on sandwiches ??

I’ve been putting the miles on the 911 since the last post and it started to mark its territory again which is a PITA, even more so was arriving home one evening to feed the flock with a curry and unknown to me I had walked over some oil on the drive and upon returning home and announcing my arrival in the lounge tramped oil marks over the light coloured carpet...... tits!!!

The culprit is the scavenger pump seal that appears to be leaking and not the rocker cover as before so that’s a bonus and a b1tch all in one their, I’m flat out at work at the moment so bought the part and asked the garage to fix it but they politely declined citing it as being on a par with walking over a floor covered with Lego.......

So...... I returned it to the barn, threw the cover over it and drove home in the BMW. I have decided to get the IMS replaced soon and will ask the specialist I take it to to do the pump seal at the same time as they will have to lower the engine making access easier.... I’m going to load the pit of money as well and ask them to investigate if the front diff is whining or wheel bearings or tyres, I suspect the Diff so may as well seek guidance as to the best remedy...

I have decided to keep it now so happy to invest in the old girl with it being a keeper.

My well used tactic when trying to show empathy is just to say "wow" when someone is emotional and talking at me. It makes it sound like you care.
