Holy F***** s*1t it goes like a f***** stabbed rat
PSML
I take my hat off to you sir, awesome creation you have there - clearly the product of a deranged mind and the perseverance of a saint.
Now you can enjoy it. (I now have visions of sprog in car seat in the back saying "pleeeeaaase daddy - just one more pull"
Why thanks hahaha. It's certainly become an interesting creation.. how soon is too soon to pull it apart for a bigger clutch tho.. And funnily enough I took my eldest daughter (only just 2) out in after it had been mapped last time.. and although it didn't make Boost as such, it did make turbo noises.. when I changed gear and it did it's pfffttsshhhhhhhh noise, she asked "what's that noise" so I told her it's the turbo.. to which she laughed so I did it again!! So she laughed again!!! Haha. Shel love it now (probably not lol)

Good job! I'm glad you got there in the end. It must have some good brown trouser potential!

Hey , i wasn't that far off , and i was expecting 10 psi , best lay in supply of remould rear tyres ? You were close! Tbf I was hoping for slightly more boost. But it Should be basically undrivable at 12/14psi haha. And as much as id normally be a part worn remould kinda guy this deserves a matching set of decent tyres. And at least 265s on the back haha

Superb work. That must be so much fun when someone tries to overtake. Just don't get caught I've not tried it in a situation like that yet.. can't wait for a focus at/golf GTi/ bland euro hot hatch/ to try it away from the lights tho. Should be quite a shock to them 🤣

So cus I've basically spent the last 24 hours grinning like a lunatic thinking "is it really that fast".. I got home from work and had half hour spare. So there was only one thing for it.. take it for another quick spin.. Fired straight up pulled away and very quickly it makes turbo noises... And we'll. All yesterday's expletives are still 100%relevent! Infact them and more. Since I was a bit braver today I realised just how fast it is... The closest "car" I've ever been in was my mates lotus 2elevan. Google the specs on that and youl see how daft this is... Took it to my private road for a quick test, I did attempt to film but it's not something to let go of he wheel with so that was a non starter ... Without admitting to anything let's just say the limiter in top gear (s) comes round insanely fast ... <<<Actual picture of my face So picture the scene. I've just had my little hoon, I'm grinning, everything is working 100% and I'm coasting back up to a junction. And I notice that it's started to pop as rumble on the over run... "Must be cus the exhaust is properly hot now" I think to myself.. pull away from the junction and it feels almost like a slight misfire "maybe I'm imagining it" am i??! No no it's missing... Tried a bit of boost and it's definitely there.. oh cock!!! What have I done, has it broke a ring, dropped a valve, head started to lift, cooked itself. Not sure what I thought I was going to find limped it to a safe place to stop and opened bonnet. Yeah. That will do it 😂 thank God it's still there and not melted or ripped my loom out.. the only thing I can think is I took the plugs out before it went for mapping to clean/inspect them as it had done a lot of stop starts and didn't want fouled plugs to spoil the job. And I'm guessing I've either not put the bolt back or left it lose.. anyways. Popped it back in, turned the key and we're back on 8!! Magic! Figured that was the end of play for today (didn't have a bolt in car to bolt it back down) so took it home and parked it up. Had grand plans for tonight wanting to chuck my interim set of brakes on but the weather has decided otherwise. I can cope with it normally but not today. Didn't fancy getting wet through again. Did manage a bit of tidying in the garage which indirectly helps the cause and I've found a heater matrix local so all being well il grab that tomorrow and dash might go back in over weekend.. Cheers

I can vouch for nankang NS2-Rs as being capable enough of handling that sort of power without breaking the bank. My mate had a om606 powered merc with a hx40 on it making similar numbers and the change of tyres from decent brand name ‘normal’ tyres to what are essentially road legal race treads took it from wanting to swap ends when it boosted to at lest being able to point it in one direction 😂
They were about £80 each I think which I thought was pretty fair.

Yeah. Tbh on most stuff (daily included) whatever is round black and cheapest is the normal criteria... Even my old V8 is200 only had a matching set of budgets on it.. this is a slightly different animal tho haha. The new wheels have got a mix of decent branded tyres on, and the rears are 265 wide which I'm hoping should help keep it moving forwards rather than sidewards.. Will definitely be doing a bit of reading on tyres tho before I dive in.. since it will only do so few miles something with a nice soft compound will still probably last me a couple of years (assuming I'm not an idiot) so will be worth the investment.

It's definitely hilarious. 400bhp in anything is a quick car,400 bhp in summat that weighs about 1300kg with no traction control rwd and plastic tyres is a cross between hilarious and insanity haha. And I love it haha

Not very often the stars align... They normally align then moments later crash into each other least they do when I'm concerned.. An age back when I ripped the dash out. I noticed the heater matrix was leaking like a sieve. Being the make do kinda person I am I looped the pipes together on the engine and thought il sort that when I get time.. fast forward what feels like most of my life, and I've now got a working car and no heating.. Quick look around and the going rate for a matrix is between 60 and 70 quid. With a new one being about 130 quid.. none of them figures seem apealing for summat that will make the car no faster or look better.. Fast forward to today and I've messaged a kid breaking an is200 in Sheffield about some later rear lights for sale.. come the early 00s even Lexus had realised there legendary Lexus lights were a bit much (not helped by the fact every chav Corsa/saxo/fiesta was now sporting a finest set of Chinese copies)... The going rate for these later "shadow chrome" lights is about 100 quid a pair on evil bay. And again, I don't dislike the originals enough to spend 100 quid of go faster money on lights.. however these were badly advertised on marketplace for 30 quid and only 2 mile down road from my work.. Messaged him and sure enough he still had them. Asked him if he by any chance had a good condition heater matrix to which i got a pic back of a non leaking non damaged matrix!! But wait. It gets better... Asked what he wanted for the matrix and he replied "if you buy the lights you can have the matrix"!!! Poor little transit has never been peddled so hastily there and grabbed them haha. Anyways the fruits of my haul.. nice later style dark back lights. Personally I think they look a lot better than the original full chrome Lexus lights.. also grabbed.. Non leaky non damaged heater matrix.. so with that I can get that fitted, then get the dash back in! I also had a box of proper mikalor boost pipe clamps turn up this morning. So I can replace all the crappy cheapo jubilees.. also going to get all the pipes swaged for good measure.. lets see it blow them off now haha So. Everything going well.. except now it's not. Managed to get kids to bed and went to crack on (in the dark) fitting my new/used brakes.. the subframes I got a while back came with practically new grooved discs and mintex pads. Better than what's on the car no doubt. Problem being. Some numpty has already been round the brakes before me. And has replaced a calliper carrier bolt with one of those stupid star headed things like they use on German rubbish.. and sure enough. The biggest bit I've got isn't big enough Now if it was daylight and the kids weren't in bed, I'd hammer a normal socket on. Or carry out some kind of unspeakable bodge to get it out.. after all I've got a spare set to replace it with. But it's night time and I'm working under youngest daughter bedroom window. So that's unfortunately spoiled the job! Turns out my mate has a set from his misspent vw days. So he's going to lend me them Sunday when I take him for a test drive. Hopefully then I can get my decent brakes on as an interim (and get rid of the awful vibration once the brakes are warm).. It's not much. But I'm still doing bits.. Cheers

Nice, you've done well with this. I should imagine that's quite a bit of fun and would give my Challenger a run for its money, you've got less mass to get moving!
Gotta love a Q-car. Double thumbs up and a silly grin.
