Hi! Another "Patina" thread from germany.... It's my mates car,he's not so keen with the world wide web....so i will report instead. He's a kind of a "welding god" in german classic car circles....you will see... And there is a lot of welding ahead! We collected the car last year in December ....a 1000km trip to the blackwood forest. It's a very rare Peugeot 203 Camionette from 1952.... There is no way out.....so we make the deal! There was a lot of thumbs up on the way home..... The car went in storage.....till now! In the workshop Removed the seats.... Time to warm up the welder..... There is serious metal work to do.....the car has had a hard life, and bodge repairs are common for this kind of cars....it was the workhorse for the french farmer for it's whole life. Removed the fuel tank....and the sender. You can imagine how the tank looks inside now Even the steering wheel and the indicator/light switch falls apart.... Plan is to get it back on the road next spring. No new paint! Only renew whats broken....tight budget And than drive the car as a daily! What do think? Greet

You are correct 'Rust is not a crime' but it's a pain in the behind - especially when you have to unpick everyone else's bodges from years gone by - that said if no attempt had been made to keep it on the road then it would not be around today to repair in the first place

Guten abend! The left inner sill is a nightmare.....B-post area... There is nothing good left....so cut out the whole area... Fresh metal! Some primer befor welding into place... The outside of the inner left sill towards the load bed... The pictures are a little bit confusing....you don't know which areas shown....but they are ALL rusty! Not easy to stay with the mojo.....

What a beauty. Interesting, the flange around the rear of the roof and cab sides, ready i assume from new to be mated to a station-wagon rear, or van body? Fascinating to think this was made just seven years after the end of the war. John

Fascinating to think this was made just seven years after the end of the war. John Yes,the first ones came on the market 1948.....and they are highly modern at this time! The flange is for the load bed blanket.Station wagons and vans have a different chassis but the same cabin It's a commercial vehicle... and so they have a targetet way to build. For example. Here the front area of the roof:No attemped to hide the seam..... And a look into my garage at home this morning.... Meanwhile at the pick up....fat progress! Welded in the left inner sill.... Primer... And the finished B-post.... Thanks for looking! Cheers
