If you were thinking of grabbing something that was cheap and excessively quick, what would you be thinking of?
Just idly tossing ideas around. Wanna get back out and razz at the pod and that but the Plymouth will be like forever to finish* so I thought, what about all those cheap, quick options which must be out there... I had a 100E with a V6 and that was not as quick as it felt.
Despite the obvious suggestions of "big block + capri" or whatever, just something cheap, easy, silly quick.
Thoughts?
* as in, I have not yet even started and can't afford to do it anyway...

we may be working to different definitions of "cheap" here...
That Civic while pretty cool would require a pot of money and some time and effort to replicate.

Hmmm... Liking the thought behind those ideas. Pile a load of gas into a Scorpio Cosworth and see what it'll do....

Or you can spend £1500 on something that does the quarter mile in 10.5 seconds at 135mph, and does 48mpg on the way home

Hmmm... Liking the thought behind those ideas. Pile a load of gas into a Scorpio Cosworth and see what it'll do.... They weigh a bit, you can do the old Top Gear XJ-S trick and strip out all the interior which will help a bit. The advantage of an old kitcar is they seem to be cheap considering all the bits that make them up. And normal kitcar things like a bouncy ride, draughty, cracked GRP, huge panel gaps, bits falling off don't matter on a race car

Are S13s that quick really? I thought they were and then heard they weren;t. Would be a decent basis for a bit more tuning though.
Carlton GSi - pretty quick for sure. Getting a bit rare now too. Nice cars.

Mk6 is a bit bland looking, FWD too. 750il is a cool idea. Probably too heavy. I always fancied one of those. Maybe some time soon...

How's about an alfa 75 3litre v6 there's one on the bay for £500 at the mo.. then stuff some laughing juice in if it's not quick enough for you...... think they're about 190 ish bhp as standard... witha few cheapy mods I guess you could up that a tad.... rwd with LSD and good balance too apparently...
