Hello, long time lurker, first time threader here.
My car history includes Chevette's, Escort's, Capri's, Cortina's, Volvo's, Fiat's, Scimitar's, a Metro GTa, lots of Saab's, a Triumph 2500 (with a full length sun roof that blew off in Orkney), too many Land Rover's for any one man, VW trucks (LT's), Discovery's, BMW's and a Mitsubishi Delica.
I have been inspired by Rian (Grizz) to take the plunge and have gone out and acquired what appears to be a deeply unfashionable full size pick up. I am trying to post images, but so far I have not got the knack!
(I was hoping there would be a pic here!)
"Blue Boy" is a 1998 Chevrolet c3500 long bed, ex USAF. He's a little used around the edges and needs a bit of gentle restoration, but has a long MOT and relatively good manners on the road.
I have booked him in for a complete rust proofing after Christmas, so I have until then to sort out the few issues I have found so far.
If anyone knows where I can locate a 16" steelie with eight studs I would be very pleased to hear from you, as I have no spare at present.
All advice, thoughts and comments are welcome.

A second unsuccessful attempt at a pic. Sorry you cannot get pics loaded. Shout if you need to. So, is it single cab, double cab or Super cab?

I think that I will need a tutorial! I feel a little like the Japanese Minister for cyber security. Blue Boy is a crew cab long bed, with the 6.5 turbo diesel, it is two metres longer than my BMW touring and has lighter steering than my Fiat Panda had, it reminds me of a dancing hippo from one of the Disney films - such bulk, yet so light. I will be relocating the PMD to the drivers side inner wing, when I can decide which is the best value kit and checking to see if I need a more robust fuel pump. I also intend to update the radio to a more modern head unit and find and fit some protective seat covers. I promise pics, I just need the tutorial, many thanks for sticking with me so far.

With thanks to Grizz for the telepathic support. And here’s the somewhat sandy interior.

Looks like you cracked it. The pics that is. Looks like a new truck for 20 year old. You certainly went all the way whe you went for this one...... It is mahooosive but you seem to have tucked it nicely onto your drive Where in the country are you situated? I have a few radios stashed in the garage, that you could pick over in case you wanted one, but they may be outdated too, as the one in my Blazer has a memory stick hole, though I have no idea how to work it.

Thanks Rian, I saw your pm this morning and it spurred me on to try a different approach, which worked.
The cab is very clean (apart from the sand), and the bodywork is good, but can be improved, luckily it is galvanised which helps enormously.
I am in south Lincolnshire, so if you ever venture this way let me know, we almost always have a few bottles of Bud Light.

I don't think so, I bought it privately; but it is the same model without the aircon.
