This popped up on my home page this morning which I think is pretty interesting and was along the lines of something I'd been thinking about not long ago. www.msn.com/en-gb/cars/news/how-today%e2%80%99s-cars-might-have-looked-in-the-past/ss-BBL4MrP?li=BBoPJKX&ocid=iehp#image=1So he's taken the number of niche market sectors we now have and applied the design briefs to previous eras to establish how they might have been interpreted Pictures speak louder than words so... ![](http://img.retro-rides.org/i/v/colonelsponsz/35d06d2268d5.jpg) Porsche Cayenne 1972 ![](http://img.retro-rides.org/i/v/colonelsponsz/a851d965e302.jpg) Tesla 1936 Range Rover Evoque 1979 Audi R8 1980 Toyota Prius 1977 Dodge Viper 1965 Citroen Cactus 1962 BMW i8 1956 Alfa Romeo Mito 1960 ![](http://img.retro-rides.org/i/v/colonelsponsz/862038d086ee.jpg) Peugeot 1007 1955 ![](http://img.retro-rides.org/i/v/colonelsponsz/5301a9571a09.jpg) Mercedes A Class 1955 He's clearly a massively-talented illustrator and designer and I love the way the style of each drawing is evocative of each era, let alone each design. Love the R8 and Evoque

The R8 is lovely, even the different coloured panels look right unlike on the proper car.
The Cayenne is hideous, but still far better looking than the real thing. Mito is similar.
And the Cactus could have been a real car!

Cool, the R8 is the best. Like a slightly more attainable BMW M1.

The R8 is awesome but for me the Dodge Viper has all kinds of "WIN" written all over it!

This is massively brilliant. Is he an actual car designer or an artist? The cayenne looks so right, yet so wrong at the same time, just like the current one. It makes a change seeing it done this way round rather that the modern versions of the likes of VW beetles, Fiat 500 and the new minis, id be interested to see what an old version of the new mini countryman would look like, or and old version of the cube, the smart car. Theres loads. Interesting stuff.

There is nothing there I don't like, but for me the Tesla is best, followed by the Range Rover.

Interesting stuff. www.rubenooms.com/ He doesn't advertise himself as any kind of designer (apparently Rendering, Visuals, Illustrations, Pinstriping, Signpainting & Lettering) but he's clearly hugely talented and has an eye for form and detail. Having said that, my course at Uni went parallel with the transport design and it amazed me how many students could illustrate and render existing cars amazingly yet couldn't actually design something fresh!

All of these are quirky in various ways Porsche Cayenne, looks a whole lot like the sister of a Citroen DS Safari What it does though, it opens up our eyes for the RR’s Charter of everything having potential. Immediately I see some cars that can be built in a retro style. In fact grenade is doing this sort of thing, without the metal shaping magic that happens in the renderings. Great find and post.

My personal fave is the Peugeot 1007. If they'd actually made that, I'd be in France buying one as we speak.
The i8 and R8 are both seriously cool as well.
The chap is clearly very talented to apply the current body shapes to the older styles, as well as incorporating the design themes from contemporary models then illustrating them as period adverts/concepts.
