Since leaving SA 16 years ago, I have yearned for a bakkie after owning many over there and appreciating it's usefulness. The dream still is to own an American pickup but the budget will just not stretch to it's purchase and restoration costs at this point! Anyhoo, I started looking at whats available at the lower end of the spectrum and to be honest, you can't seem to find anything interesting let alone retro for fair money which has not been slaughtered or abused as a builders truck. But then... this little genuine Corsa pickup came along which I couldn't resist Pretty different here in the UK although not so practical with that ram operated rear lid but I can live with that for now. So....it's a common old Corsa but a bit different and quite fun to drive.

Has someone made that, or is it a thing somewhere? It looks really well proportioned, interested in more details

I'm staggered that turning Corsas and Fiestas into pick ups has actually given me the 'orn. That Fiesta looks rock!

Bit too chavvy in monochrome for me but with a bit of de-cluttering that could be a little belter. Should be in the "never seen before" thread too....a new one on me!!

I have plans All the handles need to go back to black and that orrible fuel filler cap needs sorting too but will give it some time before rushing into things.

Just bear in mind that Rustproofing will be minimal on a SA built vehicle It’s got loads of potential. Just needs to be unblinged as it looks like it’s been getuned in Randfontein. Wrong side of the Boerewors curtain/ railway track. Get rid of all the aftermarket tat and it will be cooler than a cool thing 😎

They were available in SA with an Isuzu turbo diesel lump. This one's fitted with a wee 1.4 petrol. They came out in a variety of engines.

I'm not an Opel (Vauxhall) fan but I quite like that. Usefulness is always appealing to a packrat like me.
