Where is the camping, what’s the track being used for?

Thanks for questions so far, I'll make sure they are included in the site when it goes live. For the time being to answer some questions



We'll have a mix of both, all catering has to be booked through Goodwood, but if you've been to our events before you know we like a range of good quality food and hopefully reasonably priced food at that. We are just working out with Goodwood what we want food wise and then we'll see who is available.


I can't say exactly where camping is at the moment, as we're still seeing if we can do something with the camping that Goodwood have never done before ... if we do that, it'll be double awesome, part of the reason I've held off doing much more announcing is because I'm waiting on that info.

On the Saturday the track is being used for a sprint in the way we do the Gathering one, ie anyone can have a go, we're also hoping to run a demo session for one of our display areas On the Sunday the track will be home to our club stands and retro parking, if we can get close to the number we get at The Gathering it'll be hell of a display! We'd also kinda like to do some parade laps if clubs are interested, but just trying to work out the logistics of that + people looking at cars.


You can book one day. Saturday will be track action, Sunday will be clubs and retro parking.

We do our best to avoid pies with personalities types

I live relatively close by and will definitely be coming along to this. Is there anything that needs any assistance over the weekend? Do you need people to make it work or is it all well covered (never been to a Retrorides event before so I have no idea how they are run).

I'd like to be there for the full weekend, camping in a tent because the back of my car isn't very comfortable. Unless I can get my one and only car buddy* to come along I'll be there by my sad old self as I have no other car buddies.... so I'd rather not be there as a sad-sack munching burgers on my own if I could be in a hi-vis vest shouting angrily at lines of cars whilst also munching burgers on my own.

(* it's likely not going to be his kind of thing and I've never persuaded him to join me for anything at Goodwood)

You can buy in advance or on the day.

I was going to do a "weekend but no camping ticket", but it would have just been the price of a Saturday and Sunday ticket, so you'll need to get one of each



We are all good for people, thanks for the offer though, it is always appreciated.

I'm often flying solo at events, and in the early years of RR I didn't know anyone. Handily people are pretty easy going and joining a group sat round a BBQ or fire is usually easy enough. We'll have a bar open on Saturday evening so also an easy place to sit and chat with various folk.

Very relaxed - if fact the one thing that never ceases to amaze me is you get a huge mix of car scenes and people and they all are happy to talk cars in a mixed environment



I thought I'd be doing that in 2006 at a retro show at Santa Pod where I RR had a club stand/camp area (feck was it that long ago) - I was wrong then and you are very unlikely to end up being a sad sack munching burgers on your own.

The trick is to start a thread saying what are you bringing to RRWE - people like posting pics of their cars so you get to put a forum name to a car and then wandering round the campsite you can at least start the conversation with hi I'm @quatermass - TIM in real life - I guess you are MonzaPhil seeing as that's a white Monza or a green VX 4/90 or a crusty discovery

Well, i like Scimitars, and they are nowhere to be found overhere, so i would be interested to talk to someone in a shabby old scimitar in need of a make-over

Not sure yet if i'm coming over for it though, it looks and sounds amazing, but not sure yet if i'm going to make the trip over.

OK not fully finalised yet so things may change but in a nutshell

We will have noise restrictions due to the venue (bearing in mind last few Shelsley/Prescot events have had no restrictions)

Preferred Road legal from an entry management perspective but we are looking to be more flexible - we may be able to have non road legal entries

A single passenger should be acceptable - a car full unlikely

Age of the vehicles no post 2000 cars (we reserve the right as always to accept something different or unusual - it's not like we do it much but we do bend our own rules occasionally)

Helmets will be mandatory

Cages or any other track preparation will not be mandatory
