RESULT...... I am now starting to see room both in my Dining room and my garage, much to my gain , Cant complain about the flat shifter response.... I'm still curious how you know how you knew how to tie a Hangmans noose, no problem at all..... Albert Pierrepoint in disguise? Thanks Ian ๐ As for the hangman's noose, you know the story.....if I told you,I would have to kill you....or your Troll ๐๐๐๐

It's only a hangman's noose if it has eight coils, anyway There seems to be no definite answer to the number of coils actually.๐ค 6-8 seems to be bandied about a fair amount,as does thirteen. Thirteen was also supposedly the number of steps up to the gallows. The greater the number of turns ,the greater the friction, the longer you linger.. Or maybe 6 turns for the skinny little runts and 13 turns for those who have well and truly won their battle with anorexia....

You had gallows? Damn, there's posh At Tyburn they used to send you up a ladder and then just turn it round so you fell off... hence "being turned off" [/thread derailment]

Saturday also saw the K100 engine going to its new home, which is good in that it frees up a bit of cash and a bit of space in the garage ๐ Back to the Tl1000r engine then. I need to drill out the damaged exhaust stud. It's in a bit of an awkward place,so probably best to drain the oil and turn the engine into a position where the stud is a bit more accessible. The generator cover needs to come off to repair/ modify the broken clutch slave cylinder mounting and the clutch cover needs to come off to fit heavier duty clutch springs. Seeing both covers look a bit ropey, they can get aqua blasted and powder coated are the same time . Ropeyness seen here Only externally. Inside like new ๐ Pump impeller still immaculate Pulled the generator cover off Practised my levitation skills and drained the oil.And you thought all Wizards had been hung... Need to have a better look at this Need to see if this is an oil gallery of sorts. Plan is to lop that area off and move the clutch cylinder further in That's more or less where it needs to sit for my use. Seeing there needs to be a flange there instead of a sprocket, there is one slight problem. The bleed screw needs to be at the top,for obvious reasons, but the port where the fluid gets pumped in from the clutch master will be arguing with a bit of flange. It won't be pretty and it will end in tears...So it looks like I need to make a new clutch slave cylinder with the port at the bottom. Pulled the clutch cover off. Timing gears look like new. Hoping to get a chance to get the covers away for blasting in the next couple of days. Will pull a clutch spring out and see what I can find that's a bit heavier duty...

Could you not rotate the slave so the union is at the top then use a banjo with incorporated bleed nipple. I use one for my front brake union on the bike. It helps bleed the master

If it can be fixed with a hammer, then it must be an electrical fault

On that thread, plug the banjo hole as deep as you dare, machine the bulk of the casting off leaving the plug still sealed, then convert the bleed to take the banjo, would that give you enough room??

Atmo V8 Power . No slicks , No gas + No bits missing . Doing it in style. Austin A35van, very different------- but still doing it in style, going to be a funmoble

Unfortunately the cylinder is hard up against the generator cover. I would need to rotate it anti clockwise, but even with the input port blocked off and machined down,it still won't clear. Had a quick look at cylinders, there is one on a Ducati that might work, but by the time I have bought it and modified it,it would have been quicker and cheaper to make a new casing for the one I already have.

Can't wait to see this mad contraption tearing about the far reaches of Kent/the weald Maybe even on the A21 upsetting many a Corsa owner Why the aqua blasting for the alloy castings? Or is it purely because it doesn't embed itself in to the part whilst also cleaning it like other blast media does?

Can't wait to see this mad contraption tearing about the far reaches of Kent/the weald Maybe even on the A21 upsetting many a Corsa owner I definitely don't do that with the discovery in sand and sport mode on the Lamberhurst bypass ... just watching their little faces is hilarious. Now in something like this it'd be even better... What's the target deadline on this one JB? Asking for a friend...

Or is it purely because it doesn't embed itself in to the part whilst also cleaning it like other blast media does? There are quite a few gasket ,bearing, and bush surfaces on the casings that could be damaged if the wrong person blasted them, hence the idea to aqua blast them instead. However, seeing I never got a chance to take them last week and I can't see me getting the time next week,I will blast them myself today ๐

Work interferes again. Didn't get a chance to get the covers blasted during the week ๐ Gaskets and heavier duty clutch springs turned up Saturday Went and blasted the covers along with some other bits on Sunday Getting primed...Ale for purely medicinal reasons In the process of being Satin blacked Some of you might be wondering what's up with the starters. Having looked into a number of bike engined projects,90% of them end up with the owner removing the reverse gearbox and fitting an electric reverse. A sentiment backed up by V8ian, when he mentioned he had a reverse box,but boy does it have a lot of backlash. That is the inherent problem,in that you need a lot of backlash/ freeplay to let you get it in and out of gear. This I think would destroy the driving aspect of it,so have decided to go with an electric reverse. Couple of starters sourced, looking at a slight modification to one of them. 2,2kw starter motor should give similar performance in reverse as its original little 50cc engine used to ๐

Interesting so the starter motor is a reverse motor and actually powers it backwards?

Yep. Geared down accordingly and wired through the neutral switch and clutch switch so you cant choose a combination of any gear plus reverse ๐๐๐
