Thanks!
I have in fact enjoyed the summer so much I haven't bothered to update this thread... Weather has been extremely hot and dry. The cars have performed faultlessly. I have eaten a lot of ice cream. I have been swimming in a lot of lakes and on the three different coasts of Sweden.
I'm May I wired up the instruments. The binnacle came with temperature and oil pressure sensors. I swapped those. The temperature sensor was glued in the housing of the old one and the oil pressure sensor needed an adaptor to fit but it was relatively stright forward.
New and old sensor for oil pressure:
I then bought a workshop manual to get a wiring diagram and made careful measurements and a lot of notes. It turned out to be quite a few wires...
Half way picture:
After testing and a few fixes/alterations the spaghetti incitent was tidied and shrink tube put on all connections. Only problem remaining is the revcounter showing only roughly half the revs. I suspect this is due to the Ignitor electronic ignition I installed (forgot to take pics). I have tried the fix mentioned at Ignitors website using diods, but to no avail. Some Googling tell of different problems and different fixes... I will try a separate positive feed to the Ignitor module (not from the coil). If this is not successful I will swap back to points to see if that cures the problem. I will then know for sure if it is the Ignitor. Someone who have had a similar problem and knows a fix?
The car was then set up on a rolling road. The second port jet was swapped for a bigger one to allow for cooler running. Unfortunately the throttle linkage was not possible to adjust to include both idle and fully open and hence no bhp-measurement was done
So why haven't I fixed this during summer? It's been too bloody hot and I have been to busy driving around with a big smile on my face
