And the looks do grow on you... Eventually! They're prety good to have, and pretty handy being four wheel drive and not too big. They drive pretty nicely too, although I think mine was a 3.5 litre V6 but I might be wrong.

VW sc 145 That is a lovely looking design. I just wonder without the front grilles or with the older KG-style grilles what it would look like. These are another South America only car aren't they like the Brazilia?

How about this! A Bizzarrini Kjara. Now I love my slightly obscure super cars and one offs, but I'd never heard of this. "This has a hybrid propulsion system made up by a Fiat/Lancia 2.4 JTD engine and 4 electric motors" You can buy it if you want www.speed8classics.com/classic-car/469/bizzarrini-kjara

How about the Suzuki Swift 4x4, a strangely pointless creation that apart from 4wd is identical to a standard Swift. I had a Suzuki Swift Sport for a while, and did a double take when I pulled up behind one of them and saw a diff peeking out under the rear bumper. It's only available with the small 1.2 engine too! Surely one designed for the northern Japanese market where they like small cars but also get snow. But available to buy in the UK.

If you're looking at Mitsuoka, one came up just the other week on eBay, a Mitsuoka Le Seyde, based on a Nissan Silvia.

Volvo Laplander, Swedish armed forces 4x4 workhorse that eventually found a market in civilian sales. The rear roof & doors come off, the seats come out and you can turn your minibus into a useful pickup;

VW sc 145 That should be VW Karmann Ghia TC (Touring Coupé) or Type 145, for anyone wondering, as I was... Based on a Type 3 variant platform.

^ What looks like an early tbird is the auto union 1000 (3=6) in a sport dress, but with the same two-stroke engine. A neighbor had one, from the looks you would have expected a v8, but the true sound was like a moped, only louder.

This is the Nissan Exa or in the case of the attached photo, the Nissan Exa Turbo! Typical period J interior but was quite fun to run around in.It was only a 1.5l petrol pushing 110bhp but that seemed enough in its day! Different car but showing its rear end:
