This was actually a factory recall after Fiat received so many complaints from other drivers that Multipla owners were damaging their vehicles due to not being able to get in or out of a Multipla with their eyes open, for fear of catching a glance of the car they had paid actual money for. True story. So Mean! I've got a lot of respect for the Multipla for it's brazen 'giving zero f's' to convention, nice large greenhouse and general Italian bonkers'ness. Have a pic of a really nice one

I'm with LP here, the Multipla is deliciousy batpoop while also being shockingly practical and good at doing the job it was designed to do. I'd Far rather manufacturers pulled out stuff like this than actually trying to run a profitable business by making cars that are all conventional and boring. While we're on the subject of Multiplas I really like the butterfly doors the old ones had. Not sure why, it's just appealing as a thing.

Ford headlights that you can remove to change a bulb by undoing 2 clips. Joy, simple design that makes life easy. ^^This, it takes literally five minutes (including a tea-break!) to remove and replace both headlights on a mk3 Mondeo.

Reminded myself last night that I like the turn signal behind the badge on the Z4s, neat little detail that tidies up the wing nicely. Also, thanks to adam73bgt for pointing out the big 'Z' in the front wings too. On the point of hidden logos and markers, the rotary symbols all over the RX8, most wouldn't notice, but those that know, know. I'm sure there are more

Was looking at a so called motor channel on YouTube where the presenter criticised the over use of circles and triangles in the design, didn't seem to understand the relevance.

As an avantime owner there are plenty of details that belong in the other thread, a testament to its troubled development. But I love it for all its quirks.

The Avantime is uber cool. Didn't Renault shove an F1 engine into one for a laugh?

The Mercedes-Benz W126 also has the little pull down flap above the the rear view mirror. But it also has this feature which took me by total surprise one day whilst cleaning the interior.

sun visors seem to be a recurring theme... cant find any images but the fiat 132 had excellent orange acrylic ones the pulled downwards from behind the headlining...sweet!

I only noticed this when putting the spare wings in the boot of my latest acquisition. Presumably to make the wings look lighter by focusing the point of reflection, there's a subtle crease that runs along the top of the front wing on the ADO16. Without it, the wings would probably look a lot heavier and the front end a lot stubbier as there'd be a much wider, blunter reflection to draw the eye. It also helps blend that reflection point all the way back to the tip of the rear fins which again helps improve the lines of the car. While we're on the ADO16, with the 2 door especially, you've got to love the way the B and C pillars are sloped and, on the later cars, the rear fins cropped to match.

Borrowed photo from the NSRA foum, check the shaped cut-out in the hairpin radius arm to avoid fouling the exhaust.

Okay - modern but this is such a cool detail. Possibly better labelled as an easter egg. The Beemer i8 rear bumper has an aperture with a blue surround. What's inside the aperture is incredibly reminiscent of the rear bumper of a Porker 911. So it looks like the i8 has E A T E N a 911 like a python. Such a corporate burn!

Looking at your car thinking what a heap and totally losing heart in it, then on your way shopping notice there's an offer at the valet place so you drop it off and give them a few quid, do your shopping come back and all of a sudden the shed of an hour ago looks awesome, and mojo is fully restored to the point you make an excuse to go outside for a look before it's filthy again...
