Remembered this when looking through some photos, a 1960 Chevy Suburban. The taillights and the way they fit into the concave area across the tailgate. It's basically a utility vehicle but they still made the effort to give it a bit of style. Also all split tailgates. I've fancied a car with one since I saw American station wagons in films as a kid, or even better, a side hinged tailgate with a roll down rear window. I've always liked the way an E-Type's boot opens sideways;

Easter eggs. Lots of different cars have them, these are corsa, viper, volvo, jeep. ... Really cool design gadgets! I just don´t get the one above?! Is that a certain race circuit? It is indeed, apparently if you have a viper, there are loads of different circuits inside. That's Laguna Seca.

The way the rear wiper parks vertically because it's more aerodynamic. The textured black decal around the rear glass (like all 80s hot hatches have!). The trigger door handles. The shape of the door mirrors. I could go on... I just love mk2 Golfs! There's something wrong with yours then, they're supposed to park horizontally at the bottom of the screen. Both my GTi did and my rallye. No, from the factory they park at the top of the sweep, but it's such a common modification to make it park at the bottom, you very rarely see them at the top! Both of yours must have been changed prior to your ownership. Mine had been, so I changed it back.

My wife's old Mk2 used to park where ever you turned the switch off at, think it may have actually been broken!!

Astra GTE bonnet vents make me all gooey inside.
More modern Vauxhalls reset the foglights when the ignition is switched off - this too pleases me, as it means you can't inadvertantly leave them on. Conversely, it means any later Vauxhall with them on has them in deliberately, so it makes of easy to spot the Dilbert's.
The way glove compartments used to have a key lock on them.

Those tail lights. Real Thunderbirds vibe there. It's a North Korean airport truck, but then you you probably knew that already. (photo by Arthur Mebius.)

I love the XR2 steering wheel with the round holes on each side, something about the contrast of these shapes to the rest of the car with it being boxy. Also, referring to what someone else said with the switches that actually feel like they're doing something when you press them, the ones pictured here do make an audible 'CLUNK' and do actually feel like they're proper switches. Even though the plastic behind them is made of the most brittle material known to man. [

Took me ages to remember which car I keep seeing it on, but the tail light on the Kia Cee'd never fails to make me smile when I see it. Unlike most manufacturers that compress the reflector parabola to create a grid of reflections, Kia rotated the compression slightly resulting in this funky little spiral Not something that most would even consider, especially not a Korean econobox, and it makes a massive difference.

The trick is getting it all lit up at once! With some of the BL wiring I've seen in the past, I bet a few have!

Loads already featured that I love. Also like these: The four vertical scroll gauges in the middle of the XJS instrument cluster And absolutely everything about this marvel of engineering. There is so much more to this aircraft than just the jet engines, it may as well have been the space shuttle compared to what was around at the time. DeHaviland Comet Oh, and the fact that Concorde is older than the Austin Allegro!...

60's Jags. I loved the slender semi-circular metal feature on the lower part of the steering wheel which was actually an ultra-light horn switch. On the Mk X / 420G it activated the enormous twin-tone horns which sounded as though the QE2 was docking. Sort of like this ...

I wonder if they're coded to the Fibonacci sequence?

No too clear, but the little kick up on the rear of the roof..... Also overhangs the rear glass.

That little notch in the rear window where it meets the C-pillar on the BMW 2002; If you now go outside and find the nearest BMW I can guarantee that that little detail will be there, I like it when car designers use little styling features from previous models that most people would never even notice. A few examples from Ford; Anglia front grill/indicators; Ka front grill indicators; Badges that denote engine size on the front wing of a mk4 Mondeo as per the mk4 Cortina, mk2 Capri and mk2 Escort; Mk2 Escort front grill; Mk5 Escort/Orion front grill; And this may be just me but I find that from certain angles the mk8 Transit reminds me of a mk1 bullnose; The chunky plastic grill on the mk7 always reminds me of the grill on a facelift mk2 Transit too.
