Seen it at the weekender ( With an open bonnet) and did not recognise the car as the one from the thread i followed and loved. Even my wife said to me she never new Volvo did a V8 version. This is how factor spec it looks. Later at home the penny dropped and recognised your car. SO, better late that never , beautiful car and well executed !!! Really looks like It's ment to be! Thanks for your comments It's nice to know its not just me that appreciates it thanks again 👍 |

We stopped and had a look, but as you say it looks fairly standard until you look at the engine. And even then the engine is a very tidy install so may get overlooked I think the biggest problem it had at the Weekender was that it was parked with far less subtle company, so possibly got overlooked whilst staring at the drag cars etc, I suspect the space framed minor parked behind yours suffered a similar fate Yeah totally agree a pro street Willys with a massive blower and a bright orange studebaker with a tiny propeller on the front will always draw the crowds better than a geography teachers shopping car and again your right about the minor that arrived just after I did on the Saturday and a spoke to the owner (top bloke don't know his name) but I really liked that car and the thought and work that's gone into it is fantastic I should think it's a mad road car and a bit of a track weapon but nevertheless over the course of the weekend I watched countless people just stroll past it "shame really" its nice to know people like what I've done as much as me 👍 |

Superb hope to see it at Shelsley I wasn't planning on going this year as I went last year (not in the Volvo because of its low gearing issues at the time) but when the dates for shelsley where announced it happens to fall on my birthday weekend and I'm not working that weekend so I'm probably going to be there I'm even thinking of running it up the hill (what's the worst that can go wrong😳) Do it. That's my birthday weekend too and I am willing to share it there. Also I'd like to see this. |

Well the cars been running great no problems to report Been clocking up some miles traveling from show to show Since goodwood I've done the following shows Swedsport @ beaulieu Retro show @ santapod Classic & hot rod show @ Pinewood nurseries "slough"    The car won something at beaulieu 👍 But if I'm honest there wasn't much else in that category Santapod was pretty much same old same old so il give that a miss next year The pinewood show was good it's not local to me but the wife see it advertised on Facebook and she fancied it so we put our names down Good mix of cars I've got one show this month but that's a BMW one so the Volvo can take a break Then it's off to the gathering followed by Stamford cars on the green |

Well the car is officially booked in for the morning session at the gathering hill climb next weekend Not much to do between now and then just a matter of giving the tyres a kick and filling it up with petrol I've been asked before about doing a vid of it I have tried this but it's generally when I've been on my own and I'm trying to hold my phone and drive (useless) So I thought I'd treat myself to a Go Pro But then I see how much they are 😳 So next stop make my own I had a couple of older camcorders in a cupboard so set about making some brackets   This is now the Go Bro 1 and Go Bro 2 I thought the smaller one would be good as a front (bumper) mount cam but unlike modern cars it doesn't have a screw in tow eye so had to think outside of the box    Simple little bracket later and hay presto we have the "Go Bro Grill Cam 2.0" Next was the bigger camera I wanted to fit this outside on the rear 1/4 but it's probably to heavy without a decent mount so unlikely it would of made it to the top of the hill So went with a more common head rest mount  And here it is The "Go Bro Headrest Cam 2.0" I've not tested them yet so I have no idea if or how they will work until the day but at least I've got something now Shelsley Walsh here will come |

so back from the gathering
No problems to report and I have video from the "go bro grill cam" and onboard from the "go bro headrest cam"
Only got 4 runs in and having not done it before I was still feeling my way with both track and car I didn't think it would handle as well as it did so each run I pushed the corners a bit more and I shut off a fair way from the finish line as I didn't really see the point as it wasn't timed
But next time!!!!!!!!!! I will be faster
Not sure if this will work if not il try again tomorrow
(Warning the camera picks up the radio in the onboard footage a lot more than I expected so it's loud)
Anyhow
I had a great day and I didn't break or damage the car

What a kickass car  I'll be watching your hillclimbs when I get home. How did the (E36?) 5-speed take the 1UZ power-wise? I've got a mate who's scoping out putting a 1UZ in his RX8 (boo-hiss no rotary), and having such a readily available 'box would help getting it rolling before switching to a 6-speed at a later date. |

I've got a mate who's scoping out putting a 1UZ in his RX8 (boo-hiss no rotary), and having such a readily available 'box would help getting it rolling before switching to a 6-speed at a later date. 1uz into rx8 is quite a common swop and you can get adaptor plates to fit the rx8 gearbox which would make it an easier swop i use the 6 speed BMW box from the diesel (did have the 5 speed but needed a higher final drive ) I've not had any problems with it but it's a cheap box to replace should it break |

Only just catching up with this. Fantastic concept and well executed. Without the bonnet up it's so subtle, but equally that's why it can go unnoticed in a line up of modified motors unless the V8 and it's turbo is on show.
