I really like that a lot. I used to have a 900 Turbo same as your model but a little bit older. One of the best cars I ever had. Would love to have one again. Glad to see you look after this girl. Rust is such a big thing in your side of the world. I hardly look for rust when I buy a car here. I have a 1989 BMW that is 100% rust free. Not one spot. Paint is extremely sun damaged but no rust... Good luck and keep us updated.

Love it, such a desire for a T16 EXACTLY like yours to compliment the 9000s. Well done for getting the work done properly and ensuring the car's future rather than covering the non-essentials back up. The work at Abbott must have cost a pretty penny

Thanks for the positive comments, keeps me motivated!
Oli- yes the Abbott bill will be rather large but on the flip side I know the car will be sorted, solid and good for many years to come. I couldn't enjoy the car if I knew I had just masked loads of imperfections! Shame I couldn't stretch to the full windows out respray but looking at home much fresh paint needs to go back on it won't be far off!
Next jobs to do are less painfully expensive. A mild power tweak to 195bhp, some new rear speakers and head unit, fix a hole in the carpet and find somewhere to retrim the front seats. That will be the lot then!

I really like the 900's! But the should be rwd! I like the whole package, I was never bothered about them being fwd. Also made them great winter cars. Saab never made a rwd car. They had equal length dirveshafts too which helped reduce the torque steer. lol. Some people in the states have converted them though, using a mustang base...

Love it! Looks great and well done getting hold of the rust.
I've got one too and that a full bare metal respray a few years ago. Still has a few bits that need occasional love.

Lovely black 900 turbo that a guy in the next village to me uses as a daily, always parks near me in the station car park and I'm always jealous

Always loved the shape of these cars. I had an '84 900S with around 340,000 miles on it for my first car. I can't wait to see yours in fresh paint!

I will post some of the resto pics tomorrow as I know everyone likes to see the gory details. There was so much rot in the end that I could not stretch to a full window out respray. Still looks nice apart from a slightly misaligned bonnet on the drivers side, tricky to get everything perfect on a car this old.
