Hello folks, haven't been here for a little while due to other comitments (largely of the nappy filling kind) but I'm back with yet another request for pics and info to help nurture another pipedream car build!
Much as I would love to build a modified Manta A (the last car I asked about) after grinding holes out of the Cortina and with the same to do on the old VW Camper I've had enough of steel and I am swinging back towards Scimitars again. Only this time to be different (and tax free!) I want the older straight 6 powered SE4. The plan is to get one of these and a rusty Jag XJ40 with a nice all alloy 4.0ltr AJ16 straight 6 24 valve engine and join the two together.
So, any pics both external and of details such as chassis, engine bay, prehaps a bit of interior and any info or website links would be very much appreciated.
Cheers for any help.
Smiler.

I think the Sabre is the straight six one and the Scimitar GT is a V6 2.5
Someone on here owns one ATM?

It would be good if someone on here did own one and wouldn't mind taking some pics for me.

I think the Sabre is the straight six one and the Scimitar GT is a V6 2.5 Sabres came in 4 & 6 (Consul & Zodiac engines respectively) flavours. First Scimitar coupes were basically rebodied Sabre 6s - later on they had the V6. A friend of my Dad's (whom I also know very well due to shared love of old cars) races a Sabre 6 & is currently rebuilding a straight 6 Scimitar for long distance rallying ;D

ah, I stand corrected. I did think there was a straight six but someone recently told me I was wrong and they were all V6. I give up.

Hi Smiler Heres a few pics of a straight six Scimitar GT: The Reliant Sabre and Scimitar owners club are having their sporting weekend on 18th/19th August at the Curborough sprint track off the A38 by Fradley Park. There will be plenty of cars there for you to drool over and see some Scimitars in action on the track. The Sunday has the competition Scimitars competing! I will also be there will all my archives/road test magazine articles so there will be plenty to keep you occupied! I believe one of the main roads to Curborough is closed for maintanance, so here is another route: Hopefully see you there Dave Poole ;D

Thanks for the replies, those pics are brilliant! Though I think the 24valve aj16 might be a bit too wide for the tunnel. I might have to stick to the 12 valve version.
I doubt I'll be able to make it to Curborough as it is a fair old distance from me (Salisbury/Andover area) but it does sound good. I hope you have a good day.
Thanks again,
Smiler.
