Thoroughly enjoyed my day! Brilliant show with a nice diverse mix of cars. Being able to go and watch the hillclimb for a couple of hours and ogle the cars in the paddock was ace!
The stand you put together was especially good, and next year the Polo will actually make it!

Wow, what an impressive and very diverse selection of automobiles, something for everyone. Just what I like to see.

I was going to start my own thread on this show but you beat me to it, and your photos are better than mine, especially the race track ones so thanks. really enjoyed the show. (Must apologize to the good folk of Leeds for driving like a bell whilst getting lost in their horrible one way system. Whoever planned those streets deserves an extended holiday in Guantanamo Bay.)

My excuse being I had the long lens on and it was too windy/dusty to be changing them. In recompense have a picture. I only didn't include it before as I thought it was out of focus but it might have just been my eyes. Nice to see you albeit briefly.

Damn, I must have walked straight past you at some point mk14dr! I was with one of the racers- blue single seater parked on the end a couple of cars up from the Alan Mann mk1 escort and the Piper!
I didn't have time to walk around the big field, but the front field was pretty cool with a good mix of stuff in it. I did get a very "Retro Rides" feeling from it, definitely similar in ethos/attitudes.

It had a very cool, laid back feel to the day. Really got me in the mood for RRG now. Will you be there?

Drat, it would've been nice to see you after all these years! How did your team fair up the hill? Just a casual FTD, 3 seconds faster than anyone else Felt a bit like cheating though to be honest, Harewood is a bit of a power track and we were the only ones there with a whopping great F1 V8... everything else was bike engined. Not going to be at RRG no, Unlike 8 years ago or so I have little interest in car shows/meets these days. Plus I think we're racing at Gurston that weekend instead of Shelsey.

Great stuff, nice one on organising the stand ... would love an overall shot of it. Show looks like a goodun, I've been saying for years that I don't know why more people don't do events with hillclimbs as the venue, La Vie en bleu and the VSCC events at Prescott work really well, and The Gathering does alright for itself, oh yeah and something sometimes happens at some house down in the South East. Glad to see Shelsley isn't the only hill with a long grass issue Fueled Society seem to have a great attitude to things, similar to the Roll Hard boys. Yay for the UK car scene skamanfrank yeah you are at Gurston, half the hill climb cars I'd thought I'd like to pursue for the Gathering are there :/ What car are you guys running?

I definitely heard your car then. An unmistakable noise. I had tried to hunt it out but got sidetracked by something or other. Probably the icecream van. I have to say I'm probably into meets and shows more than ever, to the dismay and derision of my other half. Good work though and good luck for the end of the month.

Wow, thanks for sharing the pics!
I'm gutted that i didn't go, I thought it would just be the typical new VAG cars on air ride type show so decided to spend the day doing DIY.
Will have to come along next time.

Yay for the UK car scene skamanfrank yeah you are at Gurston, half the hill climb cars I'd thought I'd like to pursue for the Gathering are there :/ What car are you guys running? My pleasure. I should've had flyers for RRG printed and been handing them out as there was plenty there that would suit. I have mentioned it on the Fueled Society Facebook page when I posted pictures and a few have shown interest so that is nice. The grass was an issue for a couple of cars, an extremely low 350Z nearly went the way of the T5 At RRG15, there was smoke and smoldering so about 20 of us had to push it to safety. Pretty sketchy to be honest. The best I can do for a full stand shot is this one pilfered from my good lady (though there are actually a couple of us missing from this shot, Pete's 126BIS and antz in his t5'd 245 on Advan 3spokes).

Pretty sketchy to be honest. Yeah it is a concern, we're getting the grass cut at Shelsley this year, but I fear dry grass may be hazardous in a way that longer (wet) grass isn't. Thanks for the photo I'm going to make it the cover picture for the RR facebook page .. going to sort flyers for shows for next year (probably general RR ones), so we can spread the word some more.

Will have to come along next time. If I didn't know the organisers I would probably think the same, but all they want is to have fun with and around cars. It's as simple as that. It really shows on the day awsell that the only folks taking it overly seriously was some of the VAG guys. But, horses for courses, it was nice just to park up and see so much interesting metal without having to travel miles to do so. Really got me fired up for RRG now though.

It's a round of both the British and Midlands Hillclimb champs so unfortunately that's where lots of people will be that weekend. I help out with this not particularly RR but still awesomely cool, Pilbeam MP97 with an ex-F1 Judd V8 (owned by the same guy as the Chapman Mercury III that was at Chateau Impney):
