The Irmscher clear lights I bought for my ST turned up today, and are smoked so perfect for this instead. Treated it to a wash, also have found somewhere to stash the ST for now, so not in such a rush to sell, especially for some of the offers I've had through pm. Also since this thread is actually fot the Astra, I've not driven it in a while due to a failed wiper motor. Got one from the scrappy the other day and fitted that today, so back to 2½ working cars from 4

So been using this more or less daily for the past few weeks, that wasn't the plan, but it's such a nice drive over the mondeo that it's just the go to car. So what's occurred. Well I had a slight coolant leak which turned out to be the reservoir, swapped that over, flushed put what I could and refilled with fresh anti freeze... and then it started misfiring. Nothing had got wet that shouldn't, was working so bought plugs and leads, and fired it at my mechanic, as the back 3 cylinders are an to get to. All that done, still misfiring, turned out to be the coil pack. No outside evidence it was broken but it was manky, and a make called QX Automotive which didn't inspire confidence so it got a brand new Bosch one. Was also sick of tripping over the Recaro sears I bought for the ST, so stuck them in today (got soaked as well, was sunny when I started) but they're all done now, and stuck in the new carbon wheel I got for the ST as well while it's not been used. Also stuck a discounted Richbrook gear knob in from Halfords as well, as since I swapped the stick the original worn one wouldnt stay on.

A productive day on the Vectra today, I got rid of these absolutely botched top and bottom hoses, fitted these JS Performance ones, 74 quid but only option for these now, considering they told me a 2 week lead time to make them it's been 5 days, and would have had them yesterday if not for the snow. Can't believe they lasted this long tbh. All bled up, new coolant, runs cooler now as well with toasty heaters. Those jubilee clips aren't meant to be in the middle of each one, it's where there's some copper pipe sleeved in where it looks to have failed before. Also aware now I'm missing a bolt on the plenum. Since that didn't take me as long as I thought I cracked on changing my speakers, they've always been useless, now I can see why 😂 new cheapo no names but a hell of a lot better than I had. They both looked like that. In Astra news the MOT is due Monday, so I'll swap the wheels over again as the tyres on the gold ones seems to be perishing at a rapid rate, and send it in. Barely touched it lately, although I did fit a new electric aerial.

Got a nice pass for the Astra today, advisories on ball joint covers starting to go, so may poly Bush the lower arms when I sort that out. Nice it went straight through for a change, no unexpected grot lurking which is nice to know.
